We might have just lost our best player for the first 1-2 months of the season. Brad scheduled the way he did thinking we'll have our full team.

Are we sure about that?

I think the staff's philosophy on this is they view the strength of schedule as a win for both program visibility but also because it really doesn't hurt you.

Even if we have no David, I still think this is a what? Top 15-20ish group. And Brad would schedule aggressively with that as well.

Well, going into a season without David ever existing is DIFFERENT from going into a season with him... just for him to not be available and get hurt.

It's just too much to be asking for another "marque game" - when your best player who the staff built and planned the entire offense around - could be out for a significant portion of the non conference.

Where are you getting this 2 months of the season stuff? That would be an early January return... if you break your foot at the end of July and don't come back until January its because you've broken the other foot in November haha.

Luke Goode had the same injury and missed 4 months. I don't think it's out of the question.

Does anyone know if we have any closed scrimmage or (practice) preseason games this year?

All of Mirk’s body transformation is lost. Can’t work on agility. He’s basically going to be out of rhythm probably till the conference season.

At this point, I’m assuming the TTU, Duke, and UConn games are likely lost. We probably lose another surprise game like Mizzou or a midmajor.

We better hope the Michigan and MSU games are backloaded.

At this stage, I’m hoping to avoid the 8/9 seed line.

Besides conference games is there an incentive to even buy season tickets for home games? Going to be alot of tickets going for sale for the non conference schedule

That's stupid. (not saying that to you).

Our ceiling is just "Final Four" and Michigan and Michigan St's ceiling is National Championship. We are the best Big Ten team this year and our ceiling is winning the national championship.

I know I'm a homer fan, but come on
I'm not sure what they actually think our ceiling is given this:

"Plus, David Mirkovic, who was ready for a starring role this season, underwent surgery on his foot this week. If he can return to 100% early enough, this team's ceiling is raised significantly."
