Illini Basketball Uniforms

Couldn’t have asked for a better a better sponsor. No huge logo, no differing colors, and local. Home run from Whitman.
I noticed that the patch is on the right side for men's basketball but the left side for the women? Some significance? The men do have the U. S. flag on the left side, but the women do not.

I spy with my little eye 2005 era shorts on Kylan?

Just so happened to be wearing mine today as well.

Printed. Not embroidered. But still high quality.

A valiant effort, but I think our blue is off.

Frickin’ gorgeous, man.

Since we(rightfully) honor the Flyin' Illini team, I think we should have a couple games a year where we wear the jerseys from the '04-'05 team as well!

I guess I'm in the minority but I don't know that I love the local/regional sponsor. No offense to the people at Busey. And it's a nice gesture by both parties to support local institutions. But from a branding standpoint, I'd rather have a strong national brand. Because that's what we are trying to be.

That said, I appreciate their willingness to incorporate their brand into ours. Unlike State Farm who apparently insisted on using their red logo.

By the way, State Farm continues to look good in that stadium naming deal. $2 mil / year for stadium naming vs $6 mil / year for a jersey patch.
To be fair State Farm bought in during our downswing as a program so our brand value wasn't as high. Busey have bought in at a time when we are establishing ourselves as one of the premier brands of college basketball and when more money is involved in college sports than ever before.

Also because they agreed to a longer term deal they did pay twice as much up front (and that 60 million is now closer to 120 adjusted for inflation). And naming deals have to be longer because if/when we sell the naming rights to a new company tons of signage and the court have to be redone, whereas uniform patch is just a matter of replacing the jerseys which we do every year anyway.

That said I agree that it would be nice to have a more lucrative stadium sponsorship, I'm sure the admin feels like they sold at the wrong time as our stadium rights would probably be worth well over double what we got.
