I have been asking this for over two years on here with no answer- WHO IS THE FREE THROW COACH FOR US????? Do we not have one, which would explain things, does no one want to say, or is it by committee? Please someone come up with the answer- Thanks you!!!!
I believe it's a random assignment each week based on IFund priority and attendance history.

Perhaps the lads should spend some time on the OTHER side of Ubben. The gals shot .756 this season vs. .679 for the guys. Only two B10 men's teams shot better - Mich. St. @ .759 and NW @ .757. Our guys haven't hit that number in the Underwood era. Maybe it's the smaller women's ball.

I agree that free throw practice is needed. I'm still waiting for 0440 to take one of the players aside for 30m to teach them the Barry method. I'm beginning to believe that I'll die of old age first.

wrt Illini Men's vs. Women's percentages:

The smaller women's ball was introduced in 2005. A study done from 2005-2007 looking for what impact, if any, it had. Their finding was that the smaller ball had no effect on 2 and 3pt shots beyond an adjustment period. It did aid some in ball handling skills, though they found it hard to judge in non-game environments. The free throws percentages improved significantly.

We need a Physics expert to weigh in , but I can’t believe a smaller ball through a regulation cylinder wouldn’t equal more shots made?

What I noticed this weekend in watching the final eight teams nobody ran anything that resembled a weave offense, and all the winning teams were unbelievable at the free throw line
KSU and MSU both ran weave sets in their game vs each other. It's a very common entry into a high ball screen. I don't know why it's such a hated set on this board.
