No idea what anyone would expect any of the people involved here to do differently.
+2. It's bewildering. JT and his family have done nothing disrespectful. They are patiently waiting for clarification.

Let's not be cute here. Tilmon is clearly gone without Walker. And if he's in with Walker, all the reporting we have is that Walker has the job. If Tilmon makes clear he's out either way, Walker will not be on the staff.
Tilmon holds the cards here, and we need an answer now.
And as long as we're speaking the truth here, Jeremiah doesn't appear to be the relevant Tilmon in this decision. This is Mom's call.
I don't know. Mav was having some pretty good games at the end of last year. I'd say the biggest improvement in him was from having to go up against Thorne in practice every day. What are the odds of Fletch being asked to stay on as S&C coach. I think any improvement in Mav as a big man are attributable to Fletch working with him on big man moves/play. No inside knowledge of this -- but I know Mav's improvement was not due to Dustin Ford. I think he would continue to be a nice piece to the new basketball staff. Yes I know there are bigger staff issues, just tired of the Walker rehash for 12 pages.
The whole Tilmon/Walker thing needs an answer pretty quickly.
I haven’t seen discussed (perhaps have missed) what I believe may be an overriding concern in this matter — how firing Walker might go down in Chicago. If firing Walker doesn’t go down well in Chicago, it becomes more than the loss of one or a few players; you run the risk of poisoning the relationship of the new coaching regime with Chicago from the get-go. Do that, and you run the risk of handicapping (at least at the outset) if not dooming the new regime.
As with most things, I haven’t a clue. But if I were an incoming coach, that would be my first question. “How would firing Walker play in Chicago ?”

I'm guessing Lamont Evans follows Underwood from OSU. If Walker is retained, are we thinking that Dennis Gates might come? If so, that would be an outstanding staff.

Only problem is Gates doesn't like to recruit Chicago.
I don't have a very good feeling about all of this. It's way too quiet.
Whitman has said that he's recommended Walker to Underwood. Underwood said that he wasn't going to interfere while the team was still on the run in NIT. That's over, and as I'm typing this it's only been about 15 hours since Illinois was done in the NIT. Some of which Walker and Underwood probably were sleeping, having breakfast, deciding when to meet, etc.
Sheesh, give them time to breathe. We'll know soon enough.
I'm sure meetings with the staff will be held today. Timing likely depends on when the team gets back to CU. Given the news that BWoodthumb
is meeting with Tilmon tomorrow, it makes a whole lot of sense to announce Walker staying on either this afternoon or tomorrow. That's what I expect will happen.

First time poster, long time lurker. I am not an insider and will never be one. So I'll try to never make absolute statements, but rather just stick to my feelings.
Had to come on to say that the one thing I am not worried about when it comes to anything involving Josh Whitman is silence. If there is anything I've learned about the way he operates, is that good or bad, he will keep any information close to the chest.
Also, I have a good feeling about Walker staying. We have the resources match or exceed any salary mizwho? can offer him, we are undeniably in a better situation and conference, from everything I've heard/read, Coach Underwood is a better coach than Coach Martin, and he already has a connection with the current players. The only reason that I can envision him leaving is if 1) we don't match the offer from mizwho? (or any other school), or 2) he absolutely does not get along with Coach Underwood.
I have a hard time believing that #1 will happen. #2 is very possible, and I could not fault him for leaving if that is the case.
Looking forward to being a more active member of this community!

I'm sure its a comfort level from knowing each other for awhile.I wonder what it is about Walker that Tilmon loves so much.
