This is such an impressive start to "recruiting". Just looking at this list, D. Bhebhe is the only one leaving for another school. Bonner, Harding and Smalling also transferring i believe, but that is one player here for 1 year in a limited role and three guys who gave 4 years to Illinois before deciding to try something new. J. Bhebhe, Green, Hanson, Hobbs and Eifler are all moving on to start their next phase of life, no bad connotations there. If Perry moves on, it will be for the same reasons.

This might be the most positive indicator so far of the potential success longer term, even more than the good #vibez with the staff compilation itself.

Casey Washington announced he is entering portal.
Disappointing. Had a chance to at least compete to be the #1 WR. The WR room gets thinner and thinner. Lots of unproven guys, would be shocked if we dont add a grad transfer.

Maybe they can persuade Williams to play receiver to get on the field more next year.

Love how our front 7 is shaping up right now! Getting a big time transfer at safety and linebacker and this defense will be night and day from Lovie's.

I put up a post about the returning WRs and the lack of a need for a transfer....but Washington not coming back has softened my stance. If they can get a big name in the transfer pool or someone you know is going to be in the top 3, it makes sense. There are enough guys in the second cut of "are they going to contribute in 2021?" where getting a freshman or a transfer that hasn't produced isn't interest to me.

It might depend on whether the new staff: (1) thinks Frenchie can really produce for them and (2) if they like Campbell and think he can seriously contribute next year. Wouldn't mind Smalling coming back, but there are some interesting names in the portal for P5 producers (Rodrick Fisher (Washington State), Jeremiah Holloman (FIU now but former Georgia Bulldog), Jafar Armstrong (ND), Rontavius Groves (UNC)).

Any person that shows they are willing to make adjustments would provide a night and day difference. With competent coaching, this could be an excellent first season. And by excellent, I mean fighting to a bowl birth.

Or even a bowl "berth."

Unless there is something else you wanted to tell us. Are you expecting? ;)

I'm jacked to watch a DC that will mix it up, confuse, adjust....can't wait. Hopefully COVID is history by the summer for these guys (and all of us) so they can have more fun and enjoy the ride!

Does anyone have any insight as to when we might hear about the NE game? I'm really hoping for a home game-Ireland sounds awesome-but we need the excitement of the new coach at home, not a game 2,000 miles away where we're outnumbered by Nebraska fans.

its ludicrous to have that overseas game still on the agenda.
the sooner they reschedule that for 2022 or later the better.
they are seriously talking about cancelling the summer Olympics right now because no one can plan that out to be done safely and profitably
