Re: Wisecarver, does this mean we are gonna bring in someone or he just didn't have much of a chance for playing time?

I just don’t see it with kreutz. I think he’s scrappy. But they moved philstrom and started him over kreutz for a reason. This staff likes size upfront. I’d love it if kreutz would be the guy however. Wisecarver is low on the depth chart currently. He wasn’t even on the second line during the scrimmage. He’s on transfer watch from what I heard. I do agree that crisler might not be ready and adams could very well start over him. Barlev is another sleeper as well.
From the same source I heard about wisecarver on transfer watch. I heard a couple more kids will enter the portal in the next couple days. A few lovie recruits who are buried. In state kid too which sucks.

May 1st every year is the deadline for student-athletes in fall/winter sports to give written notice to their current school to enter the portal to get the one-time exception transfer to play immediately at their new school. With spring practice over and discussions made, there will be a mad rush at most schools and hopefully some opportunities for immediate help.

I like how all the walk-ons last year were put on scholarship since there were no limits. Looks like coaches will be relying on them to fill out the roster from all the portal attrition

Much more attractive. He can move. Not a dual threat by any means. But not a statue.
Worst case, at 6'6, move him to TE.

With Plohr now in the portal, what exactly is the difference between a Lovie OLineman and BB's? (Besides size...as BB is recruiting some huge HS kids)

So a walk on, who has been playing baseball for a couple of years, may become the starting QB this year? Is it time to panic or should we thank the Football Gods for finally smiling upon us after a century or so of neglect?

Thank goodness the beta blocker works, my stent fully opened the LAD, and I'm generally calm by demeanor.

Lovies lineman we’re recruited for a zone blocking scheme (think zone in basketball, you guard your gap). BB/millers scheme is a road grader scheme. Kid large country strong dudes. And run the ball over them. Grind them down. It’s why barlev and kreutz make some sense to keep and Brody/wisecarver/kirts didn’t. Also most of lovies OL recruits weren’t BIG10 caliber guys.

He is a couple years away. He won’t start this season. But just like Brandon weeden and a few others. Those baseball pitchers have great mechanics. And he’s a good enough athlete. Texas baseball is serious.
