Hopefully the new turf has a midfield logo that doesn't look like it was drawn by a 5th grader who forgot to do their art project until the last minute.

That’s why it was moved from ISU. ISU facilities have really been upgraded since the last time they hosted. You’re right about the potential conflict. It sounds like NIU will be the major player here.
Yep those are the dilemmas. ISU is centrally located, but may have playoff conflict. NIU is ok but so far north. Why not consider SIU?

Because Carbondale is a long way from the majority of the population and teams in the state. U of I and ISU are the best options. Probably not realistic, but it would be awesome for the players if it was at Soldier Field

The planned renovation from a few years ago that got put on hold is supposed to address that and the east side.
We can dream.

It is my understanding that renovating the East side is first on the football list, like the other person said, and then the South. When the DIA gets around to the South, again to my understanding, the plan is to demolish the existing horseshoe and move the first row closer to the end zone and potentially pitch things up behind, like in the concept picture. Should be an interesting next few years.

I hadn't realized it before but that is a weak slate of home games this year. Definitely not seeing a ticket sale increase thanks to a visiting fan base this year.
Those aren't all the home games, and that graphic includes a road game at IU. It's just the games that have had times announced. We also have home games against Iowa, MSU, and Purdue (7 home games total)

Appears they removed the orange where the players on each team stand, and added "Zuppke Field" near the endzones. Can't see any other differences at first glance.
