Random thought, and I'm not sure where to put it, so I'll put it here.

Is the game against Purdue on November 12 the most likely chance Champaign has to host ESPN's College GameDay? I know we 'don't care' about that, but it's still cool to think about.

Here's my thought process:
If both Illinois and Purdue win all of their games between now and then, Illinois would be 8-1 (5-1) and Purdue would be 7-2 (5-1). Both teams would be ranked, with Illinois possibly knocking on the top 10 (if not in the top ten), and Purdue would likely be top 20. Neither of these because they necessarily beat better teams, but there will likely be enough teams in front of them that have lost. And, by nature, if they keep winning, they will go up in ranking.

Also, if they are both 5-1 in conference at that point, this game would determine B1G West champion, or at least would put the team that wins in the driver's seat. Every team in the B1G West has at least 2 losses already, and Purdue and Illinois either already own the tiebreakers (or would if they win all their games leading up to the game against Purdue). The only way the winner of the game on November 12 wouldn't win the B1G West is if they lose both their remaining games and the other wins both their remaining games.

Although, If Purdue would loses a couple games before then, I guess that does make it a better chance Illinois wins the B1G West.

Anyway, I want Illinois to just keep winning, and obviously all that other stuff doesn't matter. But, I think I do want Purdue to keep winning, too. Until November 12, at least. Imagine the scene at Memorial Stadium!

It's a fun thought, and would be awesome if it works out. But Purdue plays Wisconsin and Iowa between now and then. I really don't think they will beat both, and I actually think they will get exposed and lose both games. But nobody thought we would beat Iowa and Wisconsin either, so maybe I'm just being a hater.

The other thing to look at with College Gameday is the rest of the football slate. And Tennessee plays at Georgia, which is a virtual lock for Gameday.

I think Purdue got exposed last night. Their pass D is atrocious. They can't close out a game - they are 5-2 but could easily be 2-5.

Of course, Iowa and Wisconsin don't exactly light up the passing game, so who knows.
