If us and Purdue hold up our end of the bargain and either Bama or Ole Miss adds a loss to the mix, it will at least be close enough for us to get mad and say mean things about ESPN, and isn't that what we really want most?

Would we just deposit them in a field of corn? Morrow?

And what kind of win would it take for that scene at MS?
beat scUM at home next year , and tear them down and throw them off the roof of Illini Tower .
Let the world class engineers at our school figure out how to do that.

I don't think the Boneyard is big enough.

It was honestly pretty close in 2007 when we beat Ohio state. Even though it was a road game the students flooded campus and took over Memorial Stadium and then Green Street after we got kicked out.

That was a great night. I was watching the game via Yahoo Sports updates and texts from friends while working at JCPenney, then absolutely tore up Kam's until closing with members of the football team. Definitely top 5 in college memories

Still gives me goosebumps years later. Running out the clock on half the fourth quarter was epic.
I want to say we converted 2 or 3 4th downs.
Dont think we passed it once. They knew we were running it , and the #1 team in the land couldn't stop us.
It was epic.
I said it then and still say it today , it was the best Illini game I have ever watched. And it happened THERE !

‘Twas a good, good night.

We tried our best to tear those goalposts down, but I suppose U of I engineering is superior 😆

I got kicked out of Walgreens for walking in with a lit cigar. I told them it was ok we just beat OSU, but I guess they weren't fans. I was also in Kam's later that night, what a great celebration

I watched the game at Murphy's, then when it was over we flooded Green Street and people were climbing all over the Alma Mater as thousands of us sang Hail to the Orange. What a night that was.

A little story to pass along from last night. Was sitting at a pub in Springfield last night enjoying a nice dinner and cold malt liquor.. watching the Bama game and got into a discussion with the gentleman next to me. Come to find out he was the football coach at Pleasant Plains. For those of you who don’t know anything about PP, it is a small suburb of Springfield that has never had a football player worth a lick to sniff D1.. unfortunately earlier this year one of their players had a pretty serious medical issue during a game and is in pretty rough condition. The reason I bring up small community and no recruitable players is that the coach told me that Coach B and a couple other coaches from our staff have reached out more than once to see how the young man was doing and send along their prayers..that is as classy as it gets! Kudos to you Illini football staff!

Why won’t the like button let me like that more than once? That’s more than a class act. That’s serious genuine concern.
