Is Altmyer enrolled this semester?
that footage obviously not filmed in Champaign and is likely a week or two old and shot back at home in Miss.
he must be enrolled at UI. They need him to be in spring practice and doing whatever he can be doing on his own throwing the ball.

Its a 5 hour drive from C-U to Memphis, and depending on his NIL deal, maybe he can afford private flights between Champaign and Starksville or Oxford should he have a private throwing coach down there.

His dad is a Dr, so there's that too. He doesnt have to pay for tuition, and probably has extra funds for stuff also

People taking private flights instead of five hour drives is rarified air that I doubt apply to him.

I suppose he could have a private throwing coach, but I'm guessing he signed with Illinois in part because he believes our coaching staff can develop him. Are there actually players out there that during the school year travel to get private coaching? I've not heard that before, but who knows.

From an article in the Athletic regarding Big Ten portal additions/departures. Encouraged by the fact we had the lowest number of departures in the B1G.:

Illinois (8-5, 5-4)

Total portal arrivals/departures: 3/6

Key portal arrivals: QB Luke Atmyer (Ole Miss, 126 passing yards, 2 TDs); TE Tanner Arkin (Colorado State, 116 yards); S Nicario Harper (Louisville, 7 tackles

Man, I can't even keep up!

This is the magical line in that way too early ranking piece:

2022: 24 2021: 59 2020: 71 2019: 69 2018: 103

Any of you private school math whizzes want to project that forward?

My publick skool maph tells me #15?
Publik skool kid, but if *2019-2021 (should be 2020-3) is key to the pattern

2023- 24
2024- 26
2025- 14
2026- 16
2027- 4

(addition and subtraction only)

Excellent! I should have specified "Danville" publick skool. I managed to escape with basic survival maph and reeding skilz.

There should have been an advanced college placement class called "Getting Out of Danville".
I would have stayed after school every day for extra credit.

Are we through with transfers for the immediate future?
Priority is to get a center and at least one more safety, expect the staff to be aggressive in the portal at those positions after spring ball. Corner is also a possibility, depends on who's available in the portal

I gotta think its helped the situation with quite a few of the guys on the front 6 of our D who were eligible to leave.

for those on the board who live in/near C-U, do you see/hear any players in any TV/radio/internet ads ?
Only ad featuring a current player I have seen is Coleman Hawkins doling out cash like an ATM in a bank ad... and then there's J Leman and the appliance store ads
