Illini Football 2023

Haven’t heard much from how McCray is doing this Summer. I can’t wait to see him run over Toledo’s d. We have three big running backs. I wondered why a night game first. I was at the last two openers. It was very hot. Go Illini. I got my Familly magnet yesterday.
Toledo was 18th in total D, 10th in passing D, and 56th in rushing D. They graduated 3 DLmen (inlcuding Mr. irrelevant) but the depth lost a starter at LB early in the year and played quite a few guys. Judge Cullpepper played a ton and played at PSU the year before. The same with LB Dallas Gant who started the 2021 season for Ohio State before getting benched.

Rushing on Toledo will be the route to go as the backend is talented as heck, and a veteran group. But Brown being gone is helpful to a D scheming the 2023 Illinois offense. It'll be a tough first test for Newby QB. But if we suck per usual in special teams and give ya short fields all day it won't matter.

Thought we were talking about simple. Don't take it somewhere else on me.
Sorry, man. Can't do that. Principles are involved here. Again, a topic for another thread.
Thanks to those commenting on this topic. I just thought that this sentence was conveniently place as the last sentence in the article.

Look, I know this general topic is most likely for a different thread, and I do not want to be banned by Dan but, I will just comment that you just might not care about your privacy as to what you buy or not buy but I do.
Nothing sold in the entire stadium raises any privacy concerns, for me anyway. My purchase data is boring noise to anybody looking for suspicious activity. For those seeking a needle in the haystack, I contribute only hay.

Back on topic, credit cards significantly speed up concession sales. The process using touch screens to order and a card tap to pay only requires employees to pass out the product. It increases throughput and reduces wait time in queues.

Speeds up transactions, improving service for everyone.
I can almost guarantee that the people who tell you to sit down do not complete cash transactions more slowly than app transactions, nor do they consider the latter better service. And I wouldn't assume cards always work faster either. Btw, I'd probably not use cash, just sayin' it would be smarter to have that option available.

I am more a basketball fan than a football one (because we hardly won any FB games when I was at Illinois), but I have lots of friends that went to Arkansas & BB is HATED there. I get SEC football Is way different than the BIG but man he is not welcome in that state. They all say to "wait to put the statute up"!

Well, no.

If you’re really that worried about privacy go buy some Visa gift cards at Walgreens or CVS with cash then use those in place of a debit card. Problem solved.

Right, why not have both a self-checkout for credit/debit (with or without a cashier)
AND a line for cash with an actual cashier.

It would make sense to have the cash line for a back-up anyway. It’s not like those things ever go down. (If it ever did you would have basically everyone trying to use the old-school cash line.)

Like others have said…I’m not buying that the card system is inherently better/even more efficient in all cases. Societally, we’re generally seduced by the perception of convenience…without considering complications/ramifications.( It’s kinda ridiculous really.)We also have seemingly convinced ourselves that anything:
New=Good
Old=Bad

That is obviously, not always the case.

I can recall in 1979 , the east side main stands had a hard compacted clay floor
Worked concessions under East Main as a high schooler fall of 67 and 68. As I recall, floor was cinders. Dust wafted into the air. 2X4 wood and screen cages that customers walked through in a line. Hot dogs and cokes for sale. Never heard complaints. Guess people's expectations have changed.
