Gibbs - That is an impressive resume
-- DC Auburn 2005
-- DC Houston 2013-14
-- DC Texas Tech 2015-2018

- NFL Broncos 2001-4 defensive backs
- NFL Chiefs 2006-8 defensive backs
- NFL Texans 2009-10 defensive backs

Our secondary went from being best in country to OK. Getting torched in 2nd half of season by Indiana, NW
Can't argue against DC experience. Another interesting thing is that he was DB coach at Mizery with Walters, so maybe a scheme fit w.r.t the players we have on defense?

I can't wait to hear the story from a poster how Josh Whitman called him directly about this but he wasn't allowed to discuss it.

So when @illini0440 tells the entire board that we had both been hearing it was Cooks … He literally told you we were both surprised by this … But that means Whitman called me and said I’m not allowed to discuss it ???

Oh - we missed one thing @illini0440 … That means we’re outsiders now …

Sometimes you just gotta mute the clowns and move on with life. You guys certainly don't need to defend yourselves to anyone here.

Impressive resume. Hope it's a 3 year stay and not 1. Tons of experience.

Looks good to me. We definitely upgraded as far as experience is concerned. I’m hopeful he can provide a talent infusion via recruiting too. Interested to see who the remaining spot will go to now.

I would like to hear more about how this guy can help our recruiting.

Also, is it just me, or are others a little surprised that a 55 year old guy with a resume like this would take a role as a position coach? Could this be a “DC in waiting if Henry struggles again?”

Track record proves he can develop players. Not the case with Fenelus. I think coach B wants experienced staff. I think he was hoping for bigger recruiting chops with Fenelus as well that did not bare fruit. Im all down for a guy with solid Florida and Texas connections.

Is it, though? Buh had loads of experience. I'll need to see the other hire before we can understand how Bielema wanted to adjust the staff to meet future needs.
