LOVE THIS. Can we get this article in front of all the high 3 star and 4 star recruits out there??? Excellent publicity for the program. I'd say we're still flying a little below the radar, but if we keep it rolling it won't be like that for long!
Agreed. UI football social media accounts need to be retweeting this article every week for the next year lol

Want more Illini football. Glad I recorded Citrus Bowl. Watching again. No fumble. Keep helmet script logo. Creepy SC coach. Gamecocks name repulses me.

Fighting Illini - best team name in sports. Chattanooga Lookouts, runner up.

n December, Student Athlete NIL Founder Jason Belzer, collaborating with CNBC reporter Mike Ozanian, released a study that ranked the top 75 most valuable college athletic programs eligible for the College Football Playoff.

Six of the top ten: #2 Texas ($1.28B), #3 Texas A&M ($1.26B), #5 Alabama ($978M) #7 Georgia ($950M), #9 Tennessee ($940M) and #10 Oklahoma ($928M) are from the SEC. These six programs are some of the best at attracting and retaining five-star prospects. Typically, where the money flows, the top prospects will follow.

Can someone help me understand the "value" of a college athletic program? They can't be sold, at least not yet.

I haven't seen the article, but value to me would equal total discounted future cash flows.

I've never understood all the Allar love. I don't break down every PSU game but when I do watch him play he doesn't impress much other than some tough running at times. When Illinois played them this season, they did the Illini a favor every time they passed.
And they would likely be playing for the NC if they simply didn't let him throw the game away

it seemed like 50%~60% of the PSU passing game was because of their stud tight end Warren

yea
all they are doing is valuing the net cash flow at some interest rate - say 5% or so

This is the correct answer. A college athletic department (or just a football program) can be valued identically to any business. Also, an athletic department or a football program can absolutely be sold and I’d be willing to be these discussions have taken place.

Uh...who are you and what have you done to Pru? An NL/Walken GIF would grace this post if it were truly from the great PRUdent
