As a 30 year resident of PHX, averaging 1-2 annual trips to LV, having lived for a few years in Orlando/Tampa as well as traveling extensively around the world in mostly equatorial countries over the past 40 years, I can honestly attest to the difference between a dry and wet (humid) heat. 2 completely different things. I'd much rather spend a few hours poolside under an umbrella, or even running a 5k, in a dry heat, than doing either of those things in a 90 degree 70%+ humidity in Houston/New Orleans/ Miami. It's a palpably huge difference!

Like my oven.

I remember when we were standing outside the Bellagio and thinking we could walk down to the RIO.
Objects in dry air are much FARTHER than they appear.
I lived in Phoenix for 9 years. Even hotter than Vegas most of the time. Felt like a hair dryer blowing in your face the second you'd walk outside in summer. Honestly not sure how I did it. But those winters were glorious.

Very few places have perfect weather (and those that do then often cost an arm and a leg), but with each year I realize that it’s definitely family, culture, food and sentimental attachment keeping us in the Land of Lincoln, all fiercely battling and barely beating out the counterforce of HATING our winters.

My dad once said that people in the Upper Midwest embrace winter, while people in the Lower Midwest tolerate it. The latter is infinitely more depressing by this time of year, haha. I respect that heat can get old/too much, but MAN … the first day of the year where I walk outside and I instantly feel noticeably warmer air than I felt inside is glorious.

On subsequent watching I'm consistently amazed at how much of a gameplan Bielema and Company came up with. He's a dangerous coach when you give him that much time to prepare.
We were so well prepared for the crucial moments. The 4th down trick play that Meed recognized and recovered quickly enough to break up the pass in the end zone, not getting caught off guard by Beamer's (unethical) tricks on the kickoff, not being caught with 12 men on the field with the late subs on our goalline, forcing them to take a timeout
