Good grief, we are bookended by Ohio State and Peen State. And we open in less than a month, as a Thursday prime time game.

Nebraska, Purdue, Northwestern, and Rutgers are must wins. Then have to go out and upset one of the others.

I'm hoping for 6-4 but it's more likely we are 4-6 if the season happens.

This is my thought, as well. 6-4 would be amazing, 5-5 would be great, 4-6 is most likely (hopefully).

Not important at this point, but it will be interesting to see how the bowl season plays out if there is one. For example, a lot of FCS conferences may not even play, and we now see UConn announce they are not going to play football this year. Therefore, I am thinking that fewer teams, so maybe a concession on records this year to qualify?

5-5 for sure. 6-4 is possible. Wins over Nebby, Indy. Purdue, Rutgers Wildkittens, Minny . We are good . Believe it.

What is the Big 10 thinking? The last game of the season should be the rivalry game. Illinois vs Northwestern, Ohio State vs Michigan and so on.

4-6 really isn't a huge disappointment, but man this all big ten schedule really puts a damper on our "best team since '08 Rose Bowl". Hard to make that claim if we only pull off 4 wins.

I love that they’re not even trying to hide how they’re tilting the schedule in favor of the prestige teams. The first and last weeks are basically the inverse of each team’s projected finish. They’re bestowing Rutgers matchups like ambassadorships. I swear the Big Ten is the B1G basketball referees of football conferences.

I don't understand how this is an advantage to any of the good teams. I'm guessing the first and last games are the least likely to happen either due to the season being delayed or ended early.

The first game should tell us something about our team. When we beat OSU would that be a bigger upset then the game in 07? Who knows what will happen this year on the field. Let's hope there will be no injuries to happen during camp.

I was pretty optimistic about the old/original schedule --- and was sort of touting a potential 9-3 record if all the dominoes fell our way....and definitely 3-0 to start the season.

Hate to say it, but I can almost see 2-8 or 1-9 with the new one. I'm thinking the experts would have us possibly favored at home vs. Purdue and maybe on the road vs. Rutgers. Underdog in all the rest. 2020 should be a great test to see if Lovie really is our guy!

We get the honor of playing OSU in the very first BIG game at home on Thursday night. We'll get throttled and the entire football world will be watching. Great.

Yeah I thought 7-8 wins was possible with the old schedule. Of course, that isn't the case anymore. While I am confident this will be the best Illini team we have seen since 2007, I think 3-7 is most likely, 4-6 would be quite solid, and anything better than that would be amazing.

I'm predicting wins against Purdue, Northwestern, and Rutgers.

If I'm looking for a miracle upset this year, the Penn State game looks mighty interesting... Their previous game will be against OSU. They will be thinking it'll be a cakewalk, and will either be focusing on the B1G Championship, or could be so checked out after their season may as well be over. It'll be a sleepy trip to Champaign, IL. Could we make the impossible happen? Time will tell...

Why, playing Northwestern in late November has never been well attended.

They're definitely trying to avoid a rematch in the Big Ten championship game with no crossover games between the projected top two teams in each division (OSU, PSU, WI, MN), but not sure what else you mean unless you consider Illinois a prestige team since they play Rutgers.
