NU's 2022 schedule shows their B1G East foes to be IU, Maryland, and tOSU. So, obviously, we'll get tOSU.

Digging deeper into the schedules:

Indiana has their scheduled bye on Oct. 15th, which is when Illinois is scheduled to play Penn State. The problem with moving Northwestern is that Indiana opens their season with Northwestern. The path to moving this game seems much more difficult.

Maryland's scheduled bye is 11/05 and they are scheduled to play NU on 10/22. This could then leave the Penn State void on 10/15 as a bye for Illinois and fill 10/22 with Maryland.

Ohio State's scheduled bye is 10/22 which is also Illinois's scheduled bye week. This would then bump up Illinois's schedule bye up to10/15 (original PSU game) and Ohio State's bye would move back to November 5th where the Northwestern game was scheduled.

So Ohio State it shall be because the B1G won't give us a revenge game against Maryland (more importantly for B1G purposes, it gives tOSU a bye closer to the Championship game and Playoffs).

Time to bring Illibuck back to Chambana.

Is this Karma for Illinois fans complaining (mostly joking) about O$U ducking Illinois during covid? In reality it doesn’t change much about next years outlook, but I wonder if this is a one off or a permanent change.

We should welcome this development. Like BU in BB asked for tough opponents, I would expect BB for his team to face good, tough opponents.

Granted it will be very challenging in 2022 for sure - may be this is the understatement of this year at least.

We need to graduate from PSU category to the next: tOSU

The OSU game was cancelled due to Covid.
So if schedule changes due to Covid and missed games…OSU it is. Don’t think there Was there another game cancelled due to Covid.

On a related note, Michigan basketball will be playing 32 big ten games next season.

Its been a while since we have played IU so I hope we get them instead of O$U but Warren wants to stick it to us

And the B1G will decide to award the conference title to the team that wins the most games, regardless of winning percentage......
