A brutal result for the Tar Heels. Just never got it going and then had a good run today only to fall short.

Any Zach Barlow sightings down there in Urbania? Congrats to him and Hunter.

In the team victory photo who is the guy to Coach's left?

If it is actual left it is probably Coach Eric. He is the resource guy for the team.

New commit:

He just finished fifth in the NCAA Reno Regional: https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/236557/scoring/player

Dane just finished his sophomore year at Utah Valley, so he will have two years of eligibility remaining. He is ranked #52 in college golf per Scoreboard, ahead of Ryan (#74) and behind only Jackson (#33) and Max (#43). He is playing his best golf right now, and will likely be a starter on day one. Nice get for Coach!

Also found this - he won the Washington State Amateur last summer by three strokes. The runner-up? Max Herendeen:

Coach Small is definitely testing the keep knocking on the door theory of getting to the natty. Really, really hope it happens for him.

Great add. Easy to root for all those guys. Has been fun to watch their progression (especially Ryan, who I followed even before his UI days), and Dane certainly could be a difference maker...

PGA University standings came out today. Jackson moved up to 11th and is close to LSU's Kleen and Texas A&M's Maichon (9th and 10th respectively). The final rankings will be released next Wednesday after the championship - #2 thru #10 get a full exemption on the Korn Ferry Tour (they changed this recently, it was only top 5 last year). #11 thru #20 get an exemption for the Canada leg of the PGA Americas Tour. The #1 spot is almost certain - David Ford of UNC will likely debut on the PGA Tour next month.

Standings below. Algot Kleen will not be playing this weekend since LSU did not place in the top 5 at their regional. A strong weekend by Jackson or a stumble by Maichon should be enough to put Jackson back in the Top 10.

Some teams on the course now. UNLV with an early lead. Course seems like it could be hard. Tennessee is is already at +9 with five double bogeys.
Sure enough, course appears to be murder. Only three teams under par with many teams already making the turn. A ton of double bogeys up and down the line. Early leader UNLV has dropped to +1.

Just checking the leaderboard - lots of teams haven't started, but only 2 teams under par (at -1) so far.
Course must be playing tough.
