Illini Golfers in the Pros

If Hardy can stay here and get a t-7 or something like that it could be huge for his career. He is fighting for that tour card.

Glad to see Hardy have a great week of golf at a major. But who actually won the event? A golfer from that kitty kat school.

...and probably quite a few FedEx Cup points. Still a good showing. Hopefully Nick has a solid 2nd half of the season.
this helps for sure, but we are past the halfway point, his has about 8-10 more tournaments to secure a card

Hardy with a clean -3 back 9 yesterday has positioned himself well after the first round.

He really needs to start stacking the top-20s to have a chance at the top 125. This being only his 15th start is not great but more worrisome is the that heading into today he has a 50% cut rate. I know he was injured and appears to be healthy now, just hope he can make a charge. Would be awesome to see.

As if golf doesn't have enough pressure itself, the whole 'needs to start stacking top-20's' thing is on his shoulders, too. I imagine this is why people hurry back from injury too soon; so they can renew their tour card by 'only' stacking a few top 20's, and not need to stack top 10s instead. The things to worry about would be endless, and the better you play, the more stress you feel, i.e. when you play three good rounds, the pressure of the fourth round is much higher. Honestly, it sounds like the life of a professional golfer would be pure misery for me, not at all the sunny walk it looks like on tv. I'm happy to be a duffer, instead.

Alright, that was a huge round yesterday for Hardy with 7 birds and 1 bogey. It's moving day.

Xander has played flawless golf to this point and it is all going to be indicative on what he does but man this could be the week we are all hoping for. lets go low today.

Well, with Xander's nice finish and Cantlay's absurd play yesterday the tournament is out of reach for Hardy. However, just like last week this final round could be a game changer for our guy. I think he will need to post a 67 for a shot at top 5 and that would be a massive result. If he goes lower then that he will have put himself inside the top 125 and that is all he is thinking about right now really. Let's see how he holds up under the Sunday pressure.
