Illini Golfers in the Pros

#101
With the 2026 season starting in a few days, here is a list of Illini and where they will be playing this year:

Brian Campbell - PGA Tour - exempt thru 2028, already qualified for Signature Events, Players, Masters, PGA Championship
Thomas Detry - PGA Tour - exempt thru 2027, already qualified for Signature Events, Players
Adrien Dumont de Chassard - PGA Tour

Jackson Buchanan - Korn Ferry Tour
Michael Feagles - Korn Ferry Tour
Nick Hardy - Korn Ferry Tour, might make the field for lower end/concurrent PGA Tour events
Luke Guthrie - Korn Ferry Tour - limited starts, may need to qualify or get sponsor exemptions. I think he can play on PGA Americas as well.

Thomas Pieters - LIV Tour, likely will play some DP World Tour events

Matthis Besard - HotelPlanner Tour
Jerry Ji - HotelPlanner Tour

Steve Stricker - Champions Tour - only played 4 events last year, at a minimum he'll play the AmFam in June
DA Points - may make a few starts on the PGA Tour and/or Korn Ferry Tour, will be eligible for Champions in 2027
Coach may play an event or two in the summer (Champions Tour)

Other Illini still grinding, playing qualifiers, etc: Tommy Kuhl, Dylan Meyer, Timmy Crawford, Tyler Goecke, Piercen Hunt, Noah Gillard, Varun Chopra. Should see Ryan Voois (graduates in May) and Max Herendeen (as an amateur) at some point as well.

Did I miss anyone?

Report says Detry is joining Pieters in LIV.

Missed that one, but if true (and it probably is) that is a surprise. Detry was positioned for a solid year - entry into all signature events, a shot at the majors if he can move into the top 50 in the world ranking (he's 57th right now). Now he'll have to qualify for the U.S. Open and The Open unless they start giving points to LIV events.

But I'm sure he got a bag, and he'll reunite with Pieters - report says he would join the 4Aces team.
