Another solid night, showing he’s more than just a scorer…

Lonzo will be the starter when he returns. What is exciting is you can see Billy is positioning Ayo to be the back up instead of Coby. Ayo will get lots of tick, but it will be as the 2nd unit floor general.
Donovan has been giving Ayo more rope from the get go. And Ayo's handled it beautifully. This PG stint has gone exceedingly well.

And? I'll opt for always having a PG on the floor. Yeah, Ayo can play with Ball (or anyone). But it's pretty clear that Ayo has better PG skills than everyone 'cept Ball.

Also, Green brings stuff Ayo doesn't.
This. Ayo as NBA PG is increasingly a reality, he's had some unbelievable passes of late. Can't wait to see him dice up 2nd team units....

Point would be his best position for sticking in the NBA for a long time. He really doesn’t play above the rim and isn’t a lights out shooter. (Maybe he can become the later with work.) At the 2 position I think he’d be constantly challenged for playing time by players that can do one or the other if not both. With legit point guard skills, the ability to guard 1-3, jump the passing lanes, rebound and have Draymond Green like impact on game flow, he could be around a long time, and as Stacy King mentioned, possible all-star in 5 years.

He sure is shooting like a lights out shooter. Maybe he's done the work and is already there.

He's shooting a high percentage, but you have to consider volume and duress.

It's impressive for a rookie to so consistently attempt only high percentage shots, as Ayo has done, but if you watch the games, you'll see him occasionally passing up fairly open threes in exchange for a drive or mid-range jumper, which I think is a sign that he recognizes his own limitations there.

I'd agree with the original poster that his value will grow immensely if he can become a good enough shooter to accept and make all of his open threes.
