Sigh.

I wish people would just simply support Kofi in his decision. You have no idea about the full reason, the dollars involved, or anything else. None of it is your business. Your business is to support a former player 100% who is obviously a big supporter of the program.
It's possible to speculate on the financial implications of Kofi's decision without commenting on or discounting non-financial considerations, and I think that's what most on here are doing. The financial implications are of more interest to those on here because of the implications on decisions other players will make in the future. I really don't think it's unsupportive to discuss whether Kofi could have made more staying, while acknowledging there are other reasons Kofi may have been ready to move on.

Earning a bunch of money and playing in Japan sounds amazing to me, and I'm glad Kofi has that opportunity. I can easily see why someone would choose that over another year in college. I hope he tears it up over there, has a long career punishing rims, and fulfills his dream of playing in the NBA.

We support Kofi's decisions and he might come out ahead financially, who knows. But like it or not, he already became a case for study especially on the financial side of things.

Everybody wants to talk about the money, but no one mentions his age vs the typical draftee. He was up against the ropes in this context and if he ever wanted to play in the NBA he had to take the shot while it was still available. Yes, he knew what the feedback was and he thought he could overcome that. Staying another year in college would have done nothing to improve his draft position and would have just made him even older than his competition. We constantly see people on this board talk about how the NBA values youthful potential over players' current skillsets. Kofi saw the writing on the wall and decided to go for it. Can't blame him one bit.

I agree with you and I think that is what Kofi had in mind. But when your chance is low to begin with, do you gamble or take the money first? Oscar Tshiebwe chose a different direction. Kofi might have missed a good lumpsum payment but it's not like he will be broke or anything close to that. He will be fine. End of day, it's a personal decision.

No surprise Kofi has a great attitude and outlook on his professional journey.

Pure speculation on my part, but I contend Kofi left the college game for two main reasons: 1) He had very little more to prove by staying, and 2) He had no desire to subject himself to another year of being pushed, punched, slapped and clobbered a hundred times each game while the referees polished their whistles.

Great point #2. It was ridiculous how much he had to endure.

Seems to hit the sophomore wall a little bit IMO but probably not a bad thing.

The rest of the Bulls do not seem to hustle on defense as much as Ayo. The Bulls are in a funk now. No one seems to be that happy or on top of their game. If the team was going better, Ayo would be doing better. Hopefully the Bulls can start to click and then I think you will see Ayo excelling more.

Using the google yen to USD conversion, it appears the first price is $128.24 and the second price is $235.10.
