Also I'm glad the bulls picked up Drummand. I mean Kofi would have done the same thing for them for way less, but they needed a big bully type.

Don’t want to see him go either, but would be ironic if his development led to him being traded for a first round pick.I'm a worrier. I'm worried that Ayo's going to play himself up into a trade prospect once Ball is healthy, and I'd love to see him stay in a prime role for the rest of my life with Chicago.
It's worse than that, because he's a second round pick he's an unrestricted free agent in the offseason and the Bulls have a ton of future money tied up in Caruso and the now dual durability worries of LaVine and Ball.I'm a worrier. Entirely possible but I also feel like his particular contract situation makes it less likely.I'm a worrier. I'm worried that Ayo's going to play himself up into a trade prospect once Ball is healthy, and I'd love to see him stay in a prime role for the rest of my life with Chicago.
Agree. Almost hope Ayo goes to another team for a pay day. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Most important thing is to have a good to great Ayo season so that NBA team(s) will want to pay him $10M+ type of salary. It's worse than that, because he's a second round pick he's an unrestricted free agent in the offseason and the Bulls have a ton of future money tied up in Caruso and the now dual durability worries of LaVine and Ball.
I hate to say it because I bet Ayo wants to remain a Bull as badly as we want him to, but if last night is indicative of his performance this year, the money just doesn't work.
But let's not be too negative about it, a monster second NBA contract is the life-changing moment the Ayo Dosunmu story has been leading to since even before U of I became a part of it.
Friends don't let friends parlayI needed 1 assist with 18 minutes to go, but alas, it was not to be:
Friends don't let friends parlay
Does that make us friends? (please say yes).Friends don't let friends parlay
You can stop worrying about it. Ball will never be healthy.I'm a worrier. I'm worried that Ayo's going to play himself up into a trade prospect once Ball is healthy, and I'd love to see him stay in a prime role for the rest of my life with Chicago.
That's the flip side of the scenario. Ayo plays so well and shows so much development that the Bulls deal Ball and make #12 a huge part of their future. You can stop worrying about it. Ball will never be healthy.
hard for me to see the bulls dumping a young, homegrown, POPULAR asset if the absolute best outcome is a 2nd round playoff exit. Bulls aren't getting to the finals with ZL, DD, and NV as their top 3That's the flip side of the scenario. Ayo plays so well and shows so much development that the Bulls deal Ball and make #12 a huge part of their future.
Drummond kind of sucks, but he's like an all time NBA great Rebounder. Kofi is just a dude. There's a reason he is unemployed at the moment. Also I'm glad the bulls picked up Drummand. I mean Kofi would have done the same thing for them for way less, but they needed a big bully type.
Ayo will be a RESTRICTED free agent, not an unrestricted free agent. It's worse than that, because he's a second round pick he's an unrestricted free agent in the offseason and the Bulls have a ton of future money tied up in Caruso and the now dual durability worries of LaVine and Ball.

Shoot, you're right.Ayo will be a RESTRICTED free agent, not an unrestricted free agent.
Easier said than done. Which is just part of the Bulls' contract problem moving forward.the Bulls deal Ball.
He's also very good defensively, maybe not at his peak, but exactly what the bulls needed.Drummond kind of sucks, but he's like an all time NBA great Rebounder. Kofi is just a dude. There's a reason he is unemployed at the moment.
Especially when you do the ayo parlay on those 3 lines before the game!!! Fill that stat sheet playa!17/6/4 as an opening night starter, pretty good stuff
this is just a hunch, but I think people didn't go the game. Therefore, the arena was nearly empty.
In fairness, I think Kofi could be a very good rebounder in the NBA as well - he dominated in college and would be one of the biggest players in the NBA as well. The Drummond comp is not that far off - if this was 2012, Kofi would have been a lottery pick. Kofi was far more advanced offensively around the basket than Drummond was coming out of college - but I do think Drummond has a wingspan and athleticism advantage which makes the difference and why Drummond has been able to stay effective for 10 years in the NBADrummond kind of sucks, but he's like an all time NBA great Rebounder. Kofi is just a dude. There's a reason he is unemployed at the moment.
