Illini Soccer 2025-2026

It is a stop start system. Each half ends when the clock strikes 0. No stoppage time. Very antiquated.

As a fan of watching soccer, I'm incredibly perturbed to see the clock counting down instead of counting up. Are there different clock rules in college soccer?
Yes. I’ve officiated college soccer for a number of years. Official time counts down. Clock stops on goals, injuries, cards, and some subs in the 2nd half.

Officials don’t like it any more than fans do, and it’s always an ask when it comes to rule changes. So far, no luck getting it changed.

Beating Penn State in soccer is a big deal. They are a long time power program in the sport.

JW is the best Illini AD in my 65 + years as an Illini fanatic...............he really really is.................

Illini soccer is exciting again.....................
Seriously. Do other ADs attend non-revenue sports events genuinely excited? I doubt it...but also, I'm asking because I don't know, and JW just seems like he's the best and one-of-a-kind AD.

Only saw the 2d half, but we definitely look like the better team

Great pivot and left footed shot for the winning goal by Ms. Jackson........exciting match and the goal in the waning moments means both of our women's squads (VB) playing today pulled out exciting victories ...........way to go ILLINI !!!!!!!!!!!!

We are tied for third with a 5-2-1 conference record and 16 points. Only 4 points behind Washington for the lead. We are 12-2-1 overall. We have three road matches left with Northwestern, Michigan and Michigan State. Only MSU has a winning conference record and is only 1 point behind us in the standings. We win out and we have a chance for second place unless Washington loses a couple of matches.

5-1 loss at MSU. Must win regular season finale vs Michigan if they want to keep faint NCAA hopes alive.

Izzy Lee did have a ridiculous penalty save and rebound save.

1-1 draw at Michigan to end the regular season. Looks like they will be forced to play in an opening round game on October 30 with a win putting them in a quarterfinal. Also it is so random that the semifinals and final are in St Louis.
