First time ever? Hard to believe we've never even had one before.
The conference has only held the event for 30 years. You can probably count the number of Illinois entrants on one hand during that time. That will change with our new coach who is considered one of the preeminent combined events coaches in the country. Don't be surprised if we have four men score points in the event next year at the conference meet (all from the Netherlands). By the way, the score reported above in not correct (Rapp got a 7572, not 7752}.

Illini finished only 1.5 points out of fourth place (you get a nice trophy for that). Amazing how much talent on the team was redshirted this year as well as new recruits coming in next year. Petros really knows what he doing by overloading on the field events in an effort to win an NCAA Championship (mighty Oregon finished 10th). He has stated he really doesn't care about Big Ten titles. He wants to win it all.

Josh W likes winning and spending some $ to do it, I think. That's what it takes this day and age, I think.
