They got swept. First 2 sets were not close, but yeah, the 3rd set they were competitive.

One thing that’s been bugging be about this team for the last 4-5 years is our inability to finish sets against good teams when we get a lead. I’ve seen countless times where we get up by 5+ points against a top 10 team in a set, and we still end up losing the set. Happened again in set 2 vs Wisconsin.

Great & fun victory. I think USC had something like 15 aces & some serious blocking. We spread it out evenly between Raina, Avery, and Ashlyn to take it in 5.
They are very quietly putting together a nice season
Not Illini related, but seemed best place to put. Always good to get a reminder of what makes college sports so great.
Last weekend was not kind to the VB ladies. They faced two Top-10 programs on the road, and got swept 0-3 in both matches. Their record now sits at 17-9 for the season and 9-7 in Big Ten Conference play.
With all the changes in the rules these days, NIL, COVID, etc., can we just keep Raina like forever?
Imagine if we had Raina Terry back in 2018 being set by Jordyn Poulter. That team would be unstoppable.
Whitman needs to fire Tamas. This is sad. Getting whipped by a bad UCLA team, killing any tournament hopes.
We should still make the tournament this year, so unlikely he gets fired. But yeah, not a game we should’ve lost. Flashbacks to the 2011 national title game…
Don't they need a .500 record to get in? Or has that rule been changed? They are currently 18-10 and have Minnesota and Indiana left. Will be very tough to beat MN. They didn't even look dialed in against UCLA, very bad loss.
Noticed on BTN+ that when displaying our starting lineup pictures, I believe it’s Sarah Bingham‘s picture that is rotating through the team matched with somebody else’s name. Brooke for the UCLA match, today vs Minny it replaced Martinez Mundo. Not sure what this is about, but it’s fun.
