Ouch, another whack ....O STATE....23 points over ILL....WHEW
Wasn't one of Ohio State's leading scorers from Montini? I haven't followed Illini women since Grentz, but I assume instate recruiting is as bad as it was for Lovie Smith? How else has Illinois become this bad? It's not like IHSA girls basketball isn't on par with other states

Not a big women's hoops guy, but gotta believe Whitman is going to relieve Fahey at season's end. Gotta have the horses, and she's failed, big time, at that.

Patti from Lombard. She had a double double vs. us.

Does anyone know why the 2 freshmen named Aaliyah haven't been playing?

Yes, our non-competitiveness is becoming ridiculous. In the last 4 games, we lost by an average of 26.25 points! I know we are in "rebuilding" process and will take time, but please keep our losses to less than 10 points. After 4 years, one should not expect many blow out losses. At this rate, Fahey should start that Greek Center (with the longest name) more and see what she can do with opportunity given to her. Fahey brought her all the way from Greece to play 3-4 minutes garbage time doesn't bode well.

Fahey is way over her head here. JW will get a solid coach after the season.
A coach that can create good offensive and defense schemes with the "limited" talents that are currently in the team, and can make adjustment throughout the game.

I have seen winnable Big10 games last year that they didn't get because Fahey did not make good adjustments during the games. This year, the opposing coaches are already familiar with Fahey's style and approach, and thus all the blow out losses. My feeling is, unfortunately, either zero or 1 win in Big10 this year.

JW will rectify this at the end of the year. Nancy just could not cut it in the big leagues. JW will find a coach that will make us competitive again.

Agreed, I trust JW will right the boat, saw another successful woman's BB coach got sacked from players crying about hard tactics. Not everyone gets a trophy at this stage. But if abusive tactics Not down with that. But hard pushing coaching I'm ok with. Like Kofi said, coach knows I'm glad when he gets on me, it gets me focused (paraphrasing)

0-8 Illinois vs. 0-11 Wisconsin in Madison. Battle for the basement, who would prevail?

Sole possession of the basement is ours. So cool.

Looking at the box score...
Illinois had 4 players go a combined 1 for 25 in field goals. Yikes!

Yeah if she's wise, she's job hunting. There won't be another year.

So, my question at this point is- does Whitman have any idea what he is doing? The football team has been to one bowl. Men's BB is looking good but other than that, his hires have been a bust. Count me off the Whitman bandwagon. I'll jump back on when he delivers results. I don't expect championships every year. But I do expect to be competitive in the BIG each year.
