Gladly take a 20 point win game 1. Don't think the team has growing pains ahead but I think this team can gel and grow together.
Cook is that offensive piece missing but I like the pieces filling in while she is out. Peebles is more defensive minded while you have Rhodes and Dolan with more offensive ability. It will be a fun year if we keep this team healthy.

I like Hayven Smith's height! Watching last year NCAA WBB tournament. On final four teams the guards were all between 5'10 to 6' and the bigs 6'3'-6'6"
Majority had height on team at multiple positions but this is not a true statement.
Leading Guard scorer during season for 3 of the 4 Final Four teams were 5'9 or under.
No doubt those teams had more size. Like I said, the leading scoring guard for 3 of the 4 Final Four teams were not tall. I totally agree Illinois needed more size and adding that on pretty quick. There are a ton of 5-4 to 5-9 guards that have a major impact in the game(we have a few). All about quality and not quantity at all positions. I trust Green is finding the right mix at 5'5 or 6'5

Berry Wallace (a wing) and Hayven Smith (a center) fit so naturally as replacements for the departing Jayda Peebles and Camille Hobby, both of whom complete their eligibility this year barring injury. Berry ranked #20 in the nation??!! (Only wish there was more footage of her on YouTube)
