81-61 win. Tough third quarter, but closed out strong in the fourth. Gen with a career-high, 32. She was an absolute beast. Scared the heck out of me when she went down, but thankfully it was just a cramp. KB with a double-double and a three, which you LOVE to see. Kam Rhodes with quality minutes off the bench. Plenty of things to clean up, especially rebounding, but still a comfortable win against a decent opponent. Can't wait to see what this looks like with Makira healthy. Hopefully, she'll be back ASAP.
Spot on. Team rebounding effort needs to improve quite a bit.

Gladly take a 20 point win game 1. Don't think the team has growing pains ahead but I think this team can gel and grow together.

Cook is that offensive piece missing but I like the pieces filling in while she is out. Peebles is more defensive minded while you have Rhodes and Dolan with more offensive ability. It will be a fun year if we keep this team healthy.

2 very mature players and a coach who genuinely cares about the players shows how tight this team is....Such a breath of fresh air on the Women's side of our sports programs.......very impressive to say the least..........................it really really is.............
The contrast is pretty drastic - all happy smiles from entire team on this end all the time.

How tall is Hayven Smith? She’s a lot taller than coach Green.

Watching last year NCAA WBB tournament. On final four teams the guards were all between 5'10 to 6' and the bigs 6'3'-6'6"
Majority had height on team at multiple positions but this is not a true statement.

Leading Guard scorer during season for 3 of the 4 Final Four teams were 5'9 or under.

Last year Illini team guards were small and only had two bigs KB and BSH

No doubt those teams had more size. Like I said, the leading scoring guard for 3 of the 4 Final Four teams were not tall. I totally agree Illinois needed more size and adding that on pretty quick. There are a ton of 5-4 to 5-9 guards that have a major impact in the game(we have a few). All about quality and not quantity at all positions. I trust Green is finding the right mix at 5'5 or 6'5 (y)

Shauna is very impressive as a coach and also in these pressers , but more impressive as a human being.........You can tell she is honest and approachable from a coaching standpoint , but her demeanor always seems to be a smiling bubbly personality with a plan for elevating the Illini program to a much higher level than ever before........

Why not us ??..............why not the Illini Women's BB team ??...........I say we have waited long enough for a winning program of Women's BB and I'm very confident we have the right person and leader to get us there.................

Go Shauna Green , go...................

I was looking at the women's schedule. On Sunday, December 17th the women play Missouri almost immediately after the men play Colgate. This is a great opportunity to see both teams play quality opponents at the SFC.
We’re going! We also found out tickets to the men’s game at noon can be used for the women’s game at three. Should be a very fun day! :illinois: -L-L

Fan since Kiwane Garris
Berry Wallace (a wing) and Hayven Smith (a center) fit so naturally as replacements for the departing Jayda Peebles and Camille Hobby, both of whom complete their eligibility this year barring injury. Berry ranked #20 in the nation??!! (Only wish there was more footage of her on YouTube)

I'm primed for an exciting run at 2025 recruits. To replace Cook, Bryant, and Bostic... how about this shoot for the moon class of prospects that we've offered:
5'6" PG Destiny Jackson (Chicago, IL) ESPN #28
5'10" G Divine Bourrage (Davenport, IA) #9
6'1" F Madison Francis (Lancaster, NY) #14

Seriously excited about the upcoming recruiting cycle.
