Bad games happen, it did to us tonight. We played flat, looked tired, didn't get loose balls, long rebounds. Sure didn't shoot well, and all that could go wrong did in the same game. Move on and better next one.

I was going to “like” that but I just can’t.

One of those shooting nights. Purdue struggled from deep but shot well from the field. We just struggled with everything from the field.

I am not down at all with the season. I look at it in different segments of the season. There are 8 games left and if we go 4-4 we end up 20-9 and 10-8 in the conference with a NCAA bid. We can win more and possibly lose more than that and get in.

Our team was shooting lights out for a good portion of the season and have cooled off a bit. It is bound to happen even if we had more depth this season. Time to regroup and take back our homecourt.

This team has not played as if they are having fun. Probably since they got ranked and had a bulls eye put on their back. They do not have a ultra super star to get them through. They have to work together. Perhaps looking for the open shooter rather than drive under the basket trying to draw a foul. They have a real good coaching staff and will figure things out for the long term. Making baskets always solves a lot of problems or rather hides a lot of problems.

Agree. It’s too bad the coach and team have to work so hard at promoting their game, that’s gotta take energy away from just winning on the court. Hopefully interest will rise and sustain so they can focus on themselves

16-5 overall and 6-4 conference play

3 PT% in 16 wins 41.1%

3 PT% in 5 losses 30.5%

Ladies have been cold from deep for a few weeks now
. The main thing is we lose to the good/respectable teams when this happens and win/squeak out a win against lower tier teams. Except for the Delaware game(could be worse) we don't have a bad loss against lower tier teams.

Here is our outside shooting in last 5 games over the past 3 weeks.

3 PT% last 5 games

Ohio St loss 7-22

Minnesota win 8-22

Indiana loss 5-15

Northwestern win 4-14

Purdue loss 4-26

Equals 28/99 last 5 games since January 8th equals 28.3%

Majority of games are played 3-4 days apart and the Minnesota game came 7 days after the OSU game. It looks like we play every 3-4 days for the next 5 games. Than we have a 7 day break and play the last 3 games every 3-4 days again. We have some talent on this team but we play to our strengths. If our 3 PT shooting is down than the opponent can stay in the game/or win.

We have a few tough games ahead and decent amount against lower level teams in the conference. Shauna Green knows this team better than any of us. I would love to see a few more players get rotated in even if it is for a game or two to save some minutes off the starters. Come Big Ten Tourney time/NCAA Tourney it will continue to be multiple games in a shorter period.

Hate to pin it on one thing. Although the 3point shooting percentage is down after early season wins. As said before with depth and a short team we need it to be higher to win and be successful. Our short bench is starting to catch up to us as well, it's a long season. Haven't heard about any injuries but flu etc can play there part also. It's easier to surprise team's than play with that bullseye on your back. Overthinking, starting to play beyond your self might come into play. I for one have their back and they have won me over. They have SO exceeded expectations and have no reason for me to believe this is just the begging. Good Luck Ladies, let's make some adjustments and stay healthy and strong!

Teams gassed. Missing 1 or 2 more pieces especially at the guard spot.

Hoping this team holds up physically down the stretch. The only bench player that gives me any confidence is Peebles. I'd love another a solid guard and a solid forward/post to give us a solid 8-player rotation that keeps the starters fresh. Hurts so bad when Lopes, Ndour, Oden, or Rhodes enters the game to give someone a rest and then gets pulled almost immediately due to a defensive lapse.

For added depth next year, we have a couple well-regarded wings coming in next year's freshman class. Highly-ranked guard Camille Jackson should be playing next year. Would be lovely to find that another returnee takes big steps in the offseason or down the stretch this year.

Could there be a transfer forward/post joining us for 2023-24? Two names of note thus far (for my/our own pleasure in thought--the portal will fill up after the season) are:
1. Yale standout grad transfer Camilla Emsbo, who is out for 2022-23 with an ACL tear. '21-'22: unanimous First-Team All-Ivy Conference, averaged 14.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. There's a lot of hussle and box out in her game, to complement her 6'5" size. Ivy League rules prohibit grad students from playing, however she has one NCAA year of eligibility.
2. Vanderbilt freshman Amauri Williams, former top 100 recruit who was dismissed from the team this month for violating team rules.

Evidently Caitlin has a nice shoe contract via the NIL, so she is off limits for either of our teams 😢😢
