The horrible part of our schedule now starts --- for the last 5 games.

@ NEB
@ MD (fly cross country west to east for the 2nd of two consecutive road games)
PSU
NEB
@ RUT (fly east again for Rutgers)

Why not make eastern seaboard schools Maryland/Rutgers the back-to-back road games, perhaps on a Thursday/Sunday schedule? The Big10 schedulers better get smarter once UCLA and USC join the conference. That MD road game is going to be a really tough game to win, for multiple reasons.

Taking care of business! Good job ladies. Anyone see the game? How was the crowd??
I didn't catch the attendance numbers, but the crowd looked good to me on tv and got loud when needed. Considering Minnesota isn't a marque matchup like Iowa or Indiana, it feels like a massive win that we are maintaining a decent-sized crowd. Here's a picture:

Sounds like a good idea. Not sure how to handle reserved seating. If you have the same season ticket seat for men's basketball as I have for women's basketball, who gets the seat for these two games?

I know that they do this for most collegiate track meets now. Both men and women compete in the same meet. You do hear complaining about the length of the meets which can stretch to two days.
I know a bunch of smaller conferences do this already because it helps with budgets and traveling expenses.

I have no idea how they do it with season ticket holders but I am sure there is a system to it.

I would love to see some different schools throughout the state and rotate a Illinois school each year or bring back random ones if the schedule fits. If a one day doubleheader, I think it would draw real well plus get the ladies a nice crowd as well.

Loyola Chicago, Chicago State, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Bradley, Illinois State, UIC, SIU Edwardsville, Eastern Illinois, Western Illinois, DePaul and might be forgetting some

Does anyone have knowledge of recruiting for next year? With the two signed recruits offsetting the two who should graduate, our roster now stands at 11. Will we be looking to build that to 15? Could use a couple talented bigs.

I have no inside knowledge for next year at this time

The 2022-2023 season is the first year where the extra Covid year counts as a scholarship. Not sure if any interest by team or player but seniors Peebles and Lopes would have another season of eligibility. I look for them to be aggressive in the transfer portal because the squad next season has 4 seniors on it.

It sure is enjoyable to witness the rising popularity of the Illini Women as well as the B1G as the premier Women's Basketball Conference. Loren Tate was even discussing on Sports Radio earlier this evening.

Genesis carried off court late in 1st Q, No indication of how serious the injury might be.

Illini cold from 3 point line. 1-7. Missed 3 layups. Down 29-21 4:20. Bostic with 2 fouls. Not their best effort so far. 4:13 2d Q

Illini down 37-29 at half. Bostic on bench for half of 2d Q. Bryant did not play 2d Q. Taponen with playing time after Lopes picked up 2d foul. Lack of depth and cold shooting hurting Illini. 13-35 from field, 1-7 from 3 point line.

At the half, down 8. Bryant out with ankle injury. A lot of fouls. Going to be an interesting second half.
