NW plays Rutgers at approximately 3:30 today on BTN. Winner plays Illini tomorrow (Thursday) night at approximately 8:00 - also on BTN. Exciting times!

Even though Rutgers is ahead of Northwestern in the standings (12 vs. 14), I'd prefer to play Rutgers tomorrow night. Our two victories over NW were by 3 and 6 points, as opposed to, 22 and 18 points over Rutgers. Rutgers also has a short bench like we do.

I agree 100 %....nu games were closely contested with the first game , I think , we got out to a sizable lead and barely held on.....

Had hoped Rutgers/NW could have gone some multiple overtimes. But I prefer a short-handed Rutgers also, and got it!

Lily Stoddard hasn’t played since November and is no longer listed on the Purdue roster. Was she injured or were there other issues? I assume a 6’4” top 100 player from the Indiana side of the Chicago suburbs would be welcome.

Caught up with my favorite WBB team at Target Center taking in a little of the Rutgers / Northwestern game. They had a good practice at the Barn and team lunch before heading over. Feel sorry for Brynn and Jayla. Will see what the future holds for them.
Home town Gophers blew a chance to beat Penn State down the stretch. They had beaten Penn State twice in regular season.
Always makes me anxious having to beat a team three times. At least the Rutgers game planning is fresh in our minds.
Let's go Illini. Come out on fire!!

Stoddard is the all time leader at her high school for rebounds and blocked shots. Don't know much about her scoring, but just saying we could have used that off the bench this year for a few minutes in each half even if she was a freshman. Not knowing the status of our bigs after this year, Lopes is a grad student, Ndour didn't play much and is not a scorer at this time, will she stay for another year? Then Dewey has shown some improvement as a freshman but very limited playing time at 6-2, Taponen looked slow to adjust as freshamn and from Europe, will she stay or go to a D2 school? So I would say Stoddard for sure has to consider that one or more of them will not be here next year. If she is as good as Purdue and ESPN though, a 4 star and at 6-3 or 6-4 depending on where you read I think she would be a help. Maybe fighting for more playing time as Bostic and Shoop-Hill could have used another rebounder and defender to help them. Just my thoughts.

Adalia in particular would have appreciated another big so she would not have to guard a big whenever Shoup-Hill or Bostic were sitting.

Good news----Illinois was in the running for Lilly Stoddard when she committed to Purdue.

Bad news----Iowa, Wisconsin and Northwestern were also in the running from the Big Ten along with a few non-conference squads. No inside information but my guess is she is going to a Big Ten program or Butler.

Legal jargon terms this kept her from getting fired. Whalen was a real fun player to watch and helped build that program up while playing. She didn't enjoy the same success from the sidelines. Props to her for sticking with her school in a different role.

We are in the tourney either way

Just win baby!
Currently sitting as one of the last 4 teams with byes on ESPN. We should be in, but I don't want any surprises on Selection Sunday. Avoid the bad loss tonight and leave no doubt.

I agree about not losing this game as should be a win

We are one of the last 4 with byes....not the last 4 teams in

Honestly we would probably rather be a 10 seed than a 8 or 9 seed if looking for farther in the tourney. 8/9 seed winner plays #1 seed in 2nd round

I look for the ladies to win this game and run out of gas tomorrow. Hope I am wrong but played a ton of games with 3+ days rest off in between

Anything can happen in conference tournaments. Bids can evaporate in a hurry. We've never made the tourney while I've been a fan (20 years--Fall 2003 when I walked on campus). I want to be thoroughly in this friggin' thing. And I don't want to watch a play-in game.
