Agree, but I think it won’t work against the elite teams. Just don’t see how we can win with really only one frontcourt player in Lety. Parchment and Wallace are great, but aren’t bruisers. I saw Haven play against UCLA last year when Bostic was in foul trouble and she did well. I guess I would like to see Haven and Benson get at least 3 or 4 minutes but what do I know..Interesting question, but after observing Green’s coaching style, I would think she will tighten the rotation as opposed to expand it as we move into the Big 10 schedule. She will still play 8 but will not hesitate to play a player 38-40 minutes based on the situation. She will only expand the rotation if it benefits her. Of course, foul trouble and matchups will influence playing time as we enter the real season.
Haven definitely has size that you can’t teach. Offensively she doesn’t appear to be someone you want shooting.Agree, but I think it won’t work against the elite teams. Terrific news about Dolan.
So happy to see Benson getting minutesBenson with a real nice block to save two at the end of first half. Not a game for the weak or meek, both teams in foul trouble, each team with 6 players that have 2 or more fouls. Jaz has 3 for us. We could use Guyton in this game. Up 42-28 at half and our ability of get scoring from a variety of players help. Along with playing 4 bigs, actually 5 if you count Irene. Just the fact we can sit both Lety and Parchment once they got in foul trouble and still have a taller player against the size of N Texas is nice. Just think if we had this to help Bostic out last year!
Interesting that the player called for the flagrant at the start of the game never came back in as far as I saw. Wonder what was up with that?Illini win 81-69. Ugly game that got even uglier in the end. Not as close as the score indicates.
Though we currently stand at 10-1, we aren't finishing games particularly well. Some of our fourth quarter results:Illini win 81-69. Ugly game that got even uglier in the end. Not as close as the score indicates.
A real brute {Tac}. She's only played 24 minutes this season but has 9 fouls. They seem to only play her as an enforcer. There was one play today where Wallace was on the floor fighting for a loose ball and this gal literally dived on top of her.Interesting that the player called for the flagrant at the start of the game never came back in as far as I saw. In today’s game the 4th quarter amplified the advantage North Texas over us at each position. Where we have better athleticism they had size advantage. Where we had size they had athleticism advantage. In the 4th, the full court pressure turned us over and inexplicably we did not call timeout when trapped (Destiny).Though we currently stand at 10-1, we aren't finishing games particularly well. Some of our fourth quarter results:
SEMO beat us 24-19
Ill State tied us 20-20
Oregon St. beat us 21-18
Murry St. beat us 18-17
Indiana waxed us 25-10
N. Texas beat us 25-18
Not sure why but I wonder if it isn't a reflection of the number of minutes some of our kids are playing. Wallace and Dolan are our leading scorers, but they are averaging 32 and 30 minutes per game.
Wow. That's crazy and horrible. No respect for that coach.A real brute {Tac}. She's only played 24 minutes this season but has 9 fouls. They seem to only play her as an enforcer.
