Michigan when they are hitting their threes are tough to beat. Especially when they mix passing to an outside shooter with a cutter in lane to basket. Michigan dominated Illini inside and guarded Illini well, even three point shots. Illini are not near Michigan's level yet. Don't feel Dolan would have made a difference. Michigan guards similar to how Illini men do. Very tough and relentless while committing few fouls. Illini are still very green and inconsistent.

Well we learned how important Gretchen is to team. This was a shootout and we only scored 69 points vs Michigan 85.
We got outscored 46-28 in the paint
Gretchen not only scores but creates easier stationary shots for Cearah and Maddy.
I wish Shauna would play zone once in while just to mix it up. It would alloy Letty and Haven to play more.

No, they do not. Women refs are quite capable of knowing that a charge is a charge no matter where it occurs. They probably know what a hook and hold is and is not too.
That is one reason I almost ache for next year because there some kind of permanent doctrine in sports or just basketball specifically, that the "young," team is bogged down with the fouls and turnovers.The teams that are deemed pedigree never lose out on 50/50 calls and receive the kings share of phantom fouls,etc.. Like you have to earn respect.It burns me up ..Not having Gretchen is huge because to me she is the second best ball handler on the team.Maddie is a speed dribbler, Jaz is too much stop and go.. Aaliyah hasn't really shown that she strong with the ball,but I will go with the coaches opinions ..I think if Gretchen was out there Destiny would have had less turnovers..

The lady Illini are up 7 at the half over Northwestern. Maddie and Destiny aren't shooting well so far, so hopefully it picks up for them in the second half. Wallace, Parchment, and Guyton are carrying them so far.
I’m not sure about courtside but general admission offers a “sit where you want to” option that has tons of great seats. We usually get there early then text folks we are sitting with our location. There are almost always general admission tickets available even though the crowds are much bigger this year.

Well we HAD gone on a nice scoring run with help from most everyone to go up 15 for a hot second, but then they stunk at the end of the half and let them back in it so now up 7 at the end of the 3rd. This is where having a healthy Gretchen would have paid dividends.

It's like the ladies just lost their legs at the end of the 3rd. Went from up 15 with about 3:30 to play in the 3rd, to now only up 2 with the game almost over. Got outscored in the 4th. Here's hoping they can hang on in a nailbiter.

NW with the ball off a and 21 seconds left called a timeout. They got off a shot from 12 feet with 9 seconds left but missed. Cearah got the rebound and got fouled but missed the first FT. She made the second to make it a 3 point game and then NW took a 3 at the end but missed. Illini ladies just BARELY hold on for the W.
