Parchment is a stud and needs way more than 13 shots
I am still so amazed at how Shauna’s teams compete. They simply never give up.

I think I will skip this year’s big ten tournament but will definitely be in Vegas for 2027.

#22 Minny here today at 1pm on BTN. Go Illini!

You can tell this team is young, they do not make smart plays and play rushed when they don't have to. They can't physical play yet, as soon as they take a contact they fall. Next year's team will be formidable even there not any transfer losses

- Illini claw back to tie it at 70 with 43 seconds left.
- Ref 40 feet away bails out Goofer throwing up a garbage shot while falling out of bounds. 2 free throws, 70-72
- Minnesota big bodies Webber out of bounds and hacks JBH on the shot to tie it. No call, Illini forced to foul.
Ballgame. 🤬

In the last 2 games Vasconcelos played 22 mins. She has 0 pts, 3 rbs, 4 fouls, 1 TO, and was a statue on defense. Just a little bit of defensive help from her and we win both games. We must get someone in the portal that can provide some defense in the post. Hopefully Alves can help there also.

Now we have to play on Wednesday. The silver lining is that we should beat Purdue for our 20th win rather than having to play Washington, USC, or Oregon. Win the 1st game and we meet MSU then Iowa next. 3 wins would be the very best case scenario. (I run out of Orange kool aid after that) Then we meet up with Michigan and then UCLA. The 2 teams I would most want to avoid.

My mistake. I think we play Wisconsin not Purdue.

I felt like the Illini Women were a little fatigued from the get-go. Perhaps youth nearing the end of a long hard season for the first time? Several players seemed banged up too. But they battled hard and this game will be a winner next season. Go Illini and rest up for Wed.

At least was nice seeing Benson battling in the paint. She's got some bulldog in her. I too am hopeful that Alves will be a beast with a little more mass and power than Parchment has right now. I don't want to say Alves' power game to Parchment's finesse, because it could undersell both what Alves is able to do and what Parchment may do with an off-season under her belt, but it's a fun motto if it comes to fruition in this way.

Today, we were coming off two days rest following a hard-fought, emotional game on Thursday night in Iowa City. Minnesota had last played 7 days ago. It was a tough assignment. Credit to the recovery staff and this program that consistently shows up to fight for battling a good Gopher team that has length and bangs.

I agree, they looked tired, and except for Maddie, didn’t get much bench help. Hopefully, someone steps up to play back-to-back games in the tournament, but it is a tall order for 6 players.

We actually play Wisconsin on Wednesday (not Purdue). When (not if) we defeat the Badgers, then we get Michigan State.

Yep. That's what I said.

We have 7 out of 9 of our B1G wins against the bottom 6 teams. Might as well make it 8 of 10.

Then lets beat MSU. We lost to them by 6 at MSU. Then lets beat Iowa. We lost to them by 3 at Iowa.
