Illinois 105, Cincinnati 96 (Exhibition) Postgame
Brown and Coleman with solid games. Defense was vacant but the offense looked good.
Box:
About half the total playing time was given to freshman and JJ
This may be the best all-around freshman class I can recall.
The lineups were funky so I don’t wanna go overboard either way…
But hard not with Ethan Brown. And conversely, Vaaks.
Not that Vaaks was bad, in fact, the opposite. But minutes under 20, bench. I’m confident he’ll start, but I’m curious.

First game but 15 turnovers! No defense. Can't win natty without defense.
Getting a ton of new faces tick in a bunch of different combinations is exactly what we needed to do. Being able to still score at an elite level is excellent while giving a ton of coach up opportunities for team defense. Exciting to see Coleman and Brown show out. Interested to see what the Inquier guys have to say.
Still lots to work on. Nice to see Coleman and Brown with strong games though.
Hope to see fewer 30 point games dropped on us this year. Maybe today's was a function of lineups and Mirk being out...hopefully. We sure struggle with scoring guards despite our length.

This team has every chance to have some really good depth.
Illinois is really good
A Pre season all American didn't even play

Q plays with swagger. Love that.
Cincinnati has the #16 defense on preseason kenpom and we just put 105 on them without Mirk.
Vaaks 3 of 4 from 3p. Brown 3 of 7 from 3p
That is a top 30ish team we went to and scored 105 on with some major lineup tinkering and without Mirk. And a ton of freshmen getting run.

That was my takeaway from his US stint. He plays with a real chip on his shoulder in a good way.
Thats a lot of points!
any chance this will be available to watch anywhere upcoming?
