I just realized something incredibly cool. Add up the time left and shot clock...13+33+23=69 (our score) 😲
Fran got kicked out at the perfect moment mathematically!

A problem he has failed to correct all year. Plus it's easy to see when he is going hero ball.
Not his best game. With a bit more discipline, he is a star.
But a lottery pick so what do I know.
Reading these comments is insane. KJ has bad games sure but all year? If that was the case he’d be averaging like 5+ turnovers instead of like 3 a game. His last 4 games prior to this one he had 2-2-1-2 turnovers. 4 games before that 7-2-5-1. He just has to limit those bad games.

I haven't seen the clip, but I'm willing to bet he didn't mean it the way some people will take it.
Yeah, that's definitely NOT what BU was saying. He said that the tears shed by Sandfort (and Hawkins imo) were a sign of their love for the game and were indicative of how much their time playing NCAA basketball meant to them. Giving/devoting several years of your life to a team(s) and actually experiencing the abrupt end to that journey would bring most of us to tears. It was 100% praise!! And ANYONE who says otherwise, is just..... cringe.

I mean don’t get too high on it. We gave up 94 points.

Oh give me break with this nonsense. Definitely don't need you to tell me when to not be too high that my favorite team won. We gave up 94 points to a team that averages 82 and one player going on a heater in his final game possibly.. And as I said it wasn't fool's gold. We beat Iowa twice this year and have beaten a lot of good teams scoring a lot of points.

Yes. Some people on here taking it out of context is just snotty. Shame.

I think Iowa played as well as they can play, and Illinois did likewise. I'm an old timer, so I can't watch Iowa without the ghost of Bruce Pearl still hovering over the Hawkeyes throughout the game. I don't think he does anything without cheating. He is still pond scum.

Tomi is our most important player bar none. As Hummel said, he put on a clinic passing. His impact on our play is massive.
Someboady commented that Tomi looked gassed at the end of the game. I was enjoying myself too much to notice, but him getting tired is one concern of mine, especialy against a team with multiple good bigs.

Btw, I 100% agree that his passing is a joy to watch. Instead of "elite," I'll throw back to "A-MAZING!" (Though he "only" had six assists? Seemed like more. I would love to see him get a triple double some day)

Yes, great point.

Iowa had 5 TO’s and only 1 by a starter. They got up 71 FGA’s.

We had 10 TO’s all by starters and 65 FGA’s…

Even winning the rebounding battle by 17, Iowa got up more 6 shots than us. We got up 20 more FTA’s.

The many FTs also reduce FGA as the FGA is not counted if there is a shooting foul/on the shot

Nobody is saying otherwise jeez. It was just a funny quote when taken out of context that I'm sure will be used under many an opposing teams twitter posts when they lose to us in the future.

Some of y'all really just look for things to get mad about huh lol
