It is IMPOSSIBLE for you to be more wrong.

BRAD has said that BH grades out as one of the best defensive players EVERY game. You know defense is not just 1 v 1, right? BRAD said that BH is so good on the backside that it allows others to get steals.

Your take on his defense is just absolutely incorrect.

As far a shooting goes. A shooter HAS TO shoot out of their slump. HAS TO. ZERO coaches sit shooters because they miss shots.

And the shooter who "cant hit the broad side of the barn" as he said is................leading the team in 3s. LOL

I'm not supposed to talk about this, but with NIL it's a new era, so what the heck.

Christmas break is when Luther Head returns to campus, announces he's paying for everyone's scholarship, and the full roster is transformed into Guys Who Want To Be Here (TM).

And people were calling for Tre White to be benched after a few games and Riley to start. Heck, people were questioning even signing him based on just his Louisville season.

Most fans are too impatient and look at sports now as if everything is a fantasy team — stats are all that matter and rarely matters who they’re against. More to building a team. And these coaches have a plan and get to see how it and players are progressing more than 40 minutes every 4 or 5 days.

Then there is the flip side as fans go from 0 to 60 when something good happens. Lot of people already penciling Illini in F4 and national champs. Certainly have the potential based off of that game, but seeing it more than once might be something worth waiting for. But that’s what we do as fans — and some much more than others.

Very excited about win, but I’ll just enjoy the ride for awhile before proclaiming that destination has been reached.
Totally agree. Tre White was taking a lot of heat from this board early on. Anyway, he is just so sound and sliky smooth.

Not sure if it has been posted, but Torvik's T-Ranketology projects the Illini as a #1 seed, along with Auburn, Tennessee, and Duke.
In the grand tradition of taking something from the previous season and implementing it in the next season to devastating effect, it appears we have learned the "buzzsaw" strategy from our loss to UConn.

So to all the teams on our schedule this year:

And yet after what our bench did one of the most interesting stats to me is that Oregon ended up scoring more bench points.
Altman recognized that the game was "over" and went to the bench relatively early in the 2nd half. Underwood kept his starters in for longer.

100%...it's the Marcus Domask effect in that one of Marcus' coaches predicted he would flourish at Illinois because he would be surrounded by such good players. It allowed him to use his entire skill set instead of having to focus so much on scoring. Sounds counter intuitive, but it ended up providing him with even more scoring opportunities.
This is the line of thinking for me when it comes to Riley. He looks like he's pressing to perform at a high level when he needs to notice there is no pressure to be the superstar. Focus on good defensive and rebounding position. He can let the offense run through Bam and KJ and take advantage of openings.

Last night DGL and Davis provided a boost that was never relinquished. I hope we found some wild formula last night that can be sustained. Man I cannot wait for March......
If anything, I think yesterday showed this team's baseline level when they're hitting some shots. Prior to that they were shooting below 30% from three in those 12 games and still managed to be a top20 team in the country, according to kenpom. Naturally, they won't be shooting 55% from three from here on out, but they will also have better performances from Ivisic and Jakucionis who barely played over 20 minutes.

March could be a lot of fun. And I want to enjoy every second of watching this team until then. KJ is just so much fun to watch. The others are, too, but this one year of KJ is really special. He does these remarkable things, but you would seldom know it by his facial expressions. That's a rare quality these days.

I had to have a buddy get mine for me. I lost some value as I kept urging him to get it while he was actually in Las Vegas, but he waited a few days later and got it when he was in Laughlin. By then the odds had changed a bit. 🫤
I got 75-1 in Vegas 12 days after you got 80-1.

Not enough DGL love in this thread. Dude is a straight dawg and hopefully a 4 year player year.

Some of his moves and finishes in the 1st half were insane, completely put the Oregon defender in the spin cycle on one. Can't wait until he unleashes a can of whoop-a$$ on Purdue.....you can tell he's waiting for that one....
