Good morning. Hoping for #15 or higher.
I agree with your opinion.IMO we will be ranked around 12-14 this week.
Yes, but is it Palm? Parrish? someone else? It makes a difference to some on this board. Whatever you do, don't lump network contributors into one basket with the network and just say "CBS" moved us up. /sSome goof as CBS Sports moved us up three whole spots all the way from 22 up to 19.
Five spots below the Oregon team that we just smoked on their home court.
Just laughable...
In past rumors, the coaches poll, quite often is done by a staffer. Of course, a BB coach staffer may be very well versed in all the teams.I have learned more about the AP poll here in the last couple of years with info coming out where each pollster voted and their personal info......I now put more emphasis on the coaches poll as it's their input in their chosen field of employment and it stands to reason that have watched film on most all of the teams under consideration for their vote........
The lunacy of some being completely left off the AP poll by the media compared to those voted for by the coaches tells me some if not most of the media voters do very little research on who to vote for or at least , they have far less info than the coaches on who and where to select teams for the polls.......
I would expect the coaches poll will be drastically better for the Illini today compared to the AP..................JMHO..........
my guess is........................
coaches poll............................# 15
AP poll .....................................# 18
It was Kyle Boone’s projected Top 25 column. Him putting Illinois at 19, behind Oregon at 14, seems way too low imo.Yes, but is it Palm? Parrish? someone else? These guys aren’t credible like they used to be. Random voters who don’t watch much basketball. The metrics used for the tournament are what matter and we are top 10-15 in them. Just look at espn - they are the sec network now and do not support the big ten in any sport. It was Kyle Boone’s projected Top 25 column. Him putting Illinois at 19, behind Oregon at 14, seems way too low imo.
Speaking from some experience, I'd wager half of the AP poll voters do little to no homework, mainly follow the team they cover and that league, and watch very few games outside of that league.
