That would be great. It seems like in the time I've been old enough to follow sports (about the last 25 years), I cant recall us falling on the 2 or 3 seed line. Seems like most often we have landed on the 4 or 5 (or been good enough to get up to a 1 seed)
In the USA Today Coaches poll, we are ranked #11.

That's huge from a marketing standpoint. The big ten will hype it up as the top 2 contenders (likely) in the big ten and as a "can anyone challenge Purdue" narrative. But a top 10 matchup is just worth national attention and likely first block priority of media production

I'm a big fan of being a 3 seed. Way better than 4 or 5. I'd almost rather be a 6 seed than a 4 or 5.
Agreed, and it's silly but true. #9 Illinois vs #1 Purdue sounds like a bigger game than #13 Illinois vs #1 Purdue.
To hype it up even more.... It's a Friday night, no other B1G games that day, and the only other top 25 game is UConn @ Butler (on FS1 right before our game).
Should have a huge number of people watching. In fact, I'm really curious what the record is for a college basketball game on FS1. That game might break it.
