I'm replying to this so this presser shows up twice in this thread.

Seriously, listen to it/watch it.

That is a leader and program builder.

We are in such a good spot with him leading this program.

Just imagine if someone had appeared randomly in 2012 and pointed to Brett as he left Wisco in controversy and told us...."that guy right there....he's going to save Illinois Football in 2021."

Even more unbelievable if he'd said that this would happen AFTER a Super Bowl winning NFL coach failed here.

We would have laughed so hard.

It's really an amazing story. I hope it gets more amazing and ends with the largest bronze statue in football history.

A lot of Michigan fans around town and campus today. They all sad now, again. And to the Michigan fan who rolled into town Friday night down Neil street in their RV with THE ENTRY STAIRS OUT, I'm sorry your education was so sub-par.

and it was a heckuva catch & footwork
just wow

and I still don’t understand why we keep trying over & over again to run up the gut on first down
I was thinking that this topic would have been an excellent question to ask BB in his presser. but alas. no one did.
It was certainly annoying me to no end. I could only guess that there was a plan to do that in order to tire out their internal defense over time.

OK... That was fun! Damn good fun.

Savor the great game action and our favorable result. Good old meat-and-potatoes-style Big Ten game of ages ago. But make that a ‘Sweet’ Potato.

But take a step back too and just drink in the grander spectacle of it all – The Illini Footballers being the featured CBS Saturday afternoon game on a beautiful Prairie State October afternoon and knocking off a long-standing Illini pest before the Nation’s eyes.

The great classic uniforms (gotta use these some more). The Old-Big-Ten-Style kind of play with lots of running and grinding and gut battles in the trenches.

The Illini have come a long way from where the program was just a few seasons ago when none of this would have been happening. Once again, a big thanks to the insight and vision of the great Illini AD to bring in a perfect football coach for this program (and roundball coach!) to elevate the State flagship University up into National prominence where it always belongs.

Indiana looked terrific today. Nebraska looked dreadful. And the Illini looked... Solid. Not sexy, just solid.

Indiana is soaking up all the National love for what they’ve done with their program so far. But the Illini are climbing the ladder right along with them but under the radar.

Michigan didn’t look like ‘Michigan’. Oklahoma today sure didn’t look like Oklahoma. Gotta love the Disruptions going on in Major College Ball. And, Thank God For The Portal.

Harold Grange is smiling wide tonight. And he has a lot of company doing that in Illini Nation. And a ‘Red’ Glow hangs warmly over Prairie State skies tonight.
Grantland? That you??
Nice!

we’ve had our share of QB’s just like him

wow , it feels good having Luke taking snaps for us

I still don’t understand having a cold Leary come in to throw for 2 , even tho it worked
A mystery. WHY??? Saw he replies. Like me had to sit out. Makes sense.

Luke’s helmet came off the pervious play. Was in eligible. Oops was late on that
I think the "why" was, "why still go for two when you can't use your starting QB?" I certainly questioned it, too. The response that "a passing play from the backup QB won't be expected" is a fair one.

In BB I trust.

Luke's helmet came off on his TD play, and a player must sit out the next play when this happens...
