Social media reacts Michigan football's lethargic loss to Illinois
The bye week was supposed to fix at least some of Michigan's issues, but it did not. In fact, the Wolverines looked like the same ole Wolverines from the 2024 s
I'm replying to this so this presser shows up twice in this thread.
Seriously, listen to it/watch it.
That is a leader and program builder.
We are in such a good spot with him leading this program.
Because EVERYONE knew it had to be a run.we’ve had our share of QB’s just like him
wow , it feels good having Luke taking snaps for us
I still don’t understand having a cold Leary come in to throw for 2 , even tho it worked
Lovie's Bears lost, but your overall point is valid.Even more unbelievable if he'd said that this would happen AFTER a Super Bowl winning NFL coach failed here.
Not often a team has less than 300 yards total offense, get outgained, lose TOP, and still feel like they dominated the opposition.Ultimate What? Stat
Tuttle had both more passing yards and a higher completion percentage than Altmyer, but I think Altmyer's QB rating and QBR was higher...

I was thinking that this topic would have been an excellent question to ask BB in his presser. but alas. no one did.and it was a heckuva catch & footwork
just wow
and I still don’t understand why we keep trying over & over again to run up the gut on first down
They call that a TuttleingNot often a team has less than 300 yards total offense, get outgained, lose TOP, and still feel like they dominated the opposition.
Yes but Lovie as DC for the St. Louis Ram's won a Super Bowl.Lovie's Bears lost, but your overall point is valid.
See last week. Today's field rush was 100% justified, last week...not so much (nobody should ever rush field for beating that Purdue team).Agree. We rushed the field on a team that we were ranked higher than. This speaks volumes about the last two decades.
Grantland? That you??OK... That was fun! Damn good fun.
Savor the great game action and our favorable result. Good old meat-and-potatoes-style Big Ten game of ages ago. But make that a ‘Sweet’ Potato.
But take a step back too and just drink in the grander spectacle of it all – The Illini Footballers being the featured CBS Saturday afternoon game on a beautiful Prairie State October afternoon and knocking off a long-standing Illini pest before the Nation’s eyes.
The great classic uniforms (gotta use these some more). The Old-Big-Ten-Style kind of play with lots of running and grinding and gut battles in the trenches.
The Illini have come a long way from where the program was just a few seasons ago when none of this would have been happening. Once again, a big thanks to the insight and vision of the great Illini AD to bring in a perfect football coach for this program (and roundball coach!) to elevate the State flagship University up into National prominence where it always belongs.
Indiana looked terrific today. Nebraska looked dreadful. And the Illini looked... Solid. Not sexy, just solid.
Indiana is soaking up all the National love for what they’ve done with their program so far. But the Illini are climbing the ladder right along with them but under the radar.
Michigan didn’t look like ‘Michigan’. Oklahoma today sure didn’t look like Oklahoma. Gotta love the Disruptions going on in Major College Ball. And, Thank God For The Portal.
Harold Grange is smiling wide tonight. And he has a lot of company doing that in Illini Nation. And a ‘Red’ Glow hangs warmly over Prairie State skies tonight.
I cried today. In front of my wife. I tried to hide it. She saw it.I'm going to cry when Barnhart retires.
I don't often cry.
A mystery. WHY??? Saw he replies. Like me had to sit out. Makes sense.we’ve had our share of QB’s just like him

Luke lost his helmet and had to leave the game for a play.A mystery. WHY???
I did. And they did.
Northwestern and Rutgers are not very good either.I don't think Illinois will play a weaker team than Michigan the remainder of the year.
That's nothing against Illinois.
Luke’s helmet came off the pervious play. Was in eligible. Oops was late on thatA mystery. WHY???
3 turnovers tell the storyNot often a team has less than 300 yards total offense, get outgained, lose TOP, and still feel like they dominated the opposition.

I cried too my brother.....NL # 3 just opened her arms and said " come to mama you big Illini crazy boy ".... I did as she said....the rest is history...I cried today. In front of my wife. I tried to hide it. She saw it.

It really really is....
I think the "why" was, "why still go for two when you can't use your starting QB?" I certainly questioned it, too. The response that "a passing play from the backup QB won't be expected" is a fair one.Luke’s helmet came off the pervious play. Was in eligible. Oops was late on that
Luke's helmet came off on his TD play, and a player must sit out the next play when this happens...we’ve had our share of QB’s just like him
