They didn't test us much more than Murray State did. Not much to take from this game, but hey, that's the first Big Ten win for a first-year Illini head coach since Lou Tepper. You gotta start somewhere.

Congrats to Coach Lovie on his first B1G win. Hopefully Crouch isn't badly hurt.

Can we play Rutgers again next week?

Only saw the second half and have a couple q.

1. What happened to crouch's shoulder?
2. Did Keshawn run over coach's dog?

Considering I was a freshman in Forbes Hall when Field Goal Lou took over, that is the most depressing thing I've read in a while.

1. Don't know? I wonder if he hurt it last week. He looked awful throwing the ball.
2. Corbin and Foster are clearly getting the job done. Vaughn did have a nice play in the first half.

Back In Robinson!
Thank goodness we won this game. We are no longer The Worst Football team in the Big Ten!! Had to listen to it on the radio though, ESPN sux for putting this on NEWS which no one has and then not putting it on 3 so I could at least watch in on the computer.

UMich should be very afraid right now on their off week. The Crouch is coming to a Big House near you!!

Not sure why people keep asking this. Foster and Corbin are killing it out there.

I feel like he has to be one of our better playmakers with the other rbs and Turner at wr. They should probably try to get all of them on the field at once IMO. Maybe Corbin in the slot?

I guess if you only look at the scoreboard then yes.
Illinois 320 yards of offense
2 sacks
Rutgers 385 yards of offense
3 sacks

Timely turnovers were the biggest difference in this game. A win is a win, but a few huge takeaways saved this day. Just like about any other game I suppose though.

Well at least we didn't lose to Rutgers, even though they did more to lose the game than we did to win it.

About the only positive I can take from this game is that more freshman got meaningful playing time today, so that can only help the recruiting pitch.

After 6 games we know what kind of team we are. We have enough talent to beat the bottom tier, play for a half with the middle tier, and get pounded by the top tier.

I'm not sure I would put Nebraska in the top tier. OSU, Michigan, and Wisconsin definitely.

By "didn't test us" I meant that all we had to do was show up and take care of the ball and they handed us the game.

We didn't show ourselves to be a definitively better team in any way beyond just holding onto the football.

I think that's a fair statement and sums us up nicely. I might give us some solid 3rd quarter play tho against mid-tier opponents.

Well I'm glad we won...and I hope I'm wrong but I fear that could be the last W of the year

I haven't had a chance to watch the 2nd half. Sounds like we played with a little more control. (Only 1 penalty 2nd half?)
