I need some of y'all to pull up your big girl panties when watching games. If I sat through that at 35 weeks without losing it or going into labor, y'all can hold it together to watch a full 60 minutes of football before declaring us cooked
Well, THIS time they played the full 60 minutes! Literally! Right down to :00! Thrilling, but should have been locked up far before that.

Impressed the team kept their composure. It got pretty quit in that stadium after the 2nd (and clearly only) endzone fumble. Team did not have the home crowd support they should have on the last defensive series and early in the last drive.

David Olano looked extremely nervous before his kick. I was honestly worried. But the kid proved himself.

I really like how the team responded after such a devastating loss, and we're still very much in the playoff conversation.
Oh, with good reason! These are the things I ticked off in my mind before The Big Kick:

- National TV audience
- 60,000 people in the stands, overwhelmingly Illini supporters
- Top 25 ranking at risk
- Lots of blame if he didn't make it
- Homecoming, FFS

So um...yeah! Lots on his mind!! 😆😆😆

Posted this last week:
Last weekend I was in Rhodes, Greece.
Currently in Santorini, Greece.
Next weekend I’m in Paros, Greece.
Not a single Illini bar to be found as of yet on any of these islands. 🤷‍♂️
What the heck!!!
Here’s to hoping I wake up 22 hours from now to a victory thread on Loyalty. 🍻 🍷
All the way from Greece…. 📣
I - L - L

Obviously last week was a disappointment.
Tonight, we followed the game on line as best we could tonight. Interested to read the post game thread tonight.
But, WOW - seems like a great win for the Beloved.
Wife and I were having a late dinner in a restaurant / bar, following the game on line and as time ticked away on the final drive we rather impatiently waited for the outcome of the final play. When it finally updated and we saw the successful field goal and end of the game with the boys on top, I yelled out with an “I - L - L”, to which she equally as excited yelled out with an
“I - N - I”. The entire place looked at us like we were crazy. We might well be. What a night!!!
BTW…she’s obviously a keeper. :)
I . L. L……

That sucks Malik is no longer with us. Wanted a 4 star out of Chicago area to succeed. Look at Hank, he waited it out and is flourishing now. It’s a shame.

It was only 1 fumble but other than that your post is valid.
They really need to fix the goal line fumble calls- given there are so many bodies down there it’s rare you ever get a clear replay of a player being down and the ball at the same time- today was about as clear of look you are ever going to get and the replay official still didn’t feel it was enough to overturn it

The normal officiating of letting the play run and treat all fumbles as live balls and let replay overturn it just doesn’t apply on the goal line. Plus it’s too devastating of a mistake when you don’t get the call right- I’d much rather have them have a quick whistle when momentum is stopped on goal line plays and overturn it only when it’s a clear fumble and recovery

Generally speaking, an interesting college football game.
23 beats 21 at the last tick at 23s stadium, that fits, not sure they are both 25 teams but I expect they won’t move much in the polls
And finally, as expected, we are only as good as our O line on any given day

I'm back! I thought we were toast like the USA golf team.

Great comeback win. love to see teams react to some adversity with poise and a mission. Clean up the fumbles and hopefully something changes with the soft D.
Good job by o-line and Lunney.

The zebras protecting the big name programs might be the bigger issue at play here. Sc is a “blue blood” and they get lots of breaks. Same as OSU and Michigan over the years.
