@spotter Me, too. This is what I texted my husband right after USC scored their last TD: “Ok. So move it down the field for Olano to kick the winning field goal…” I’m still estactic I was correct and our Illini won this game. What an exciting victory! Much needed. First thought when USC scored to take the lead with 1:55 left was, "They scored too soon." As upset as I was that Illinois coughed up the lead, I just had a good feeling that they'd come back and win it.
Amazing day.
Never mind. I missed the “trailing” part.I think there were four time expiring game winning field goals. Illinois also beat Michigan State in 1980 as time expired, 20-17.

No… they missed a FG that would’ve won it.Didn't we have a walk-off FG to win v Ohio State...1992?
America really being taken to the woodshed by Team FloridaNothing could be deader than the us ryder cup team. Tv ratings for that are gonna be abysmal tomorrow.
Trailing, as written in original postI think there were four time expiring game winning field goals. Illinois also beat Michigan State in 1980 as time expired, 20-17.

We weren't trailing vs Michigan St, and there were 4 seconds left when Chris White hit the game winner vs OSU.Come to think of it, this is waaaaay off. Chris White beat Ohio State in 1985 as time expired.
Nice. Thank you.I believe it was 91. Game was tied prior to
Kick iirc. I was there.
Chris Richardson did win on a kick that year, but I don’t think it was as time expired.I believe it was 91. Game was tied prior to

Catching my breath, how did Luke hold on to the ball on that sack? He is one tough SOB. Our QB![]()

"Richardson atoned for an earlier miss with a 41-yard field goal with 36 seconds remaining, lifting No. 20 Illinois to a 10-7 Big Ten win over No. 9 Ohio State."

Good teams find a way to win … Gritty win …
OL much improved … Offense looked good … Ball security is the drill of the week …
Defense … Work to be done … A lot of it … Tackling is the drill of the week …
Few hours to enjoy this and onto the next opportunity …
Enjoy the afternoon ladies & gents …
Much needed after that …

agree 100%Trying to enjoy every Saturday we’ve got left with that kid …
I was meaner on TwitterI think storming the field here was appropriate bc of the WAY we won the game (come back, last second field goal), and the fact that it was against a ranked big name opponent.
USC very much has the soul of a Big XII in the early 2010s.SC is a very good offense. We probably will not face a more prolific offense.
We really missed X out on the field. Go Illini.
That’s exactly what a gutsy win in competitive game looks like. I’ll take it every time vs the penalty-riddled games of old. How soon we forget.I don’t get the negativity in this thread. That was a hugely entertaining college football game, won by the beloved. The offense looked GREAT, and it would have been a comfortable win without the two fumbles. Defense had some good and bad moments, but c’mon, guys, USC has one of the top offenses in the nation, so of course they were going to get some. Defense should look a lot more stout against Purdue, NW, Rutgers. Go Illini.
