Illinois 61, Wisconsin 51 Postgame

Looking at the standings, NW has a brutal stretch coming up, so they are fools gold. MSU looks like a tough string, as well. Other than that, it will be a battle.

It's a Quad 1 win as it stands right now and at worse it'll be a Quad 2-A win. This really helps solidify us as being on the right side of the NCAA Tournament cut line. 10 regular season games left. Most important thing now is to win both games at home against Nebraska and Minnesota and thus avoid any "bad losses" on the resume. Lots of important games left to determine if a Top 4 seed in the Big Ten Tournament is in play.
Wisky Net is 69 so it is a quad 1

I'm claiming personal responsibility for this win. I turned on the game late when we had a lead. As soon as I started watching Wisconsin took the lead back. I had to step away to take care of some things, we took the lead back. As soon as I started watching again they took the lead back. I was working during halftime and by the time I got back to the TV we had a 12 point lead. As I started watching we lost it completely. Right then and there, I took a stand. I will not watch this game, for the team.

The results clearly speak for themselves. You're welcome Brad.
My husband also single handedly loses Illini leads. It's a curse.

I have two thoughts I would like everyone to at the very least...ponder.

1. Always respect the game and how every circumstance should be played...and seek that knowledge.
2. Always respect the opponent.................................................................................unless...of course....that opponent is Michigan. It is OK to hate Michigan. Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, Iowa, etc. etc. all deserve respect to a degree....but Michigan has earned complete insignificance and disdain as an opponent in any sport over the past 100+ years. Carry on.

I've got to disagree on Iowa, I never respect Iowa....I have a special hate for them.

I’ll remember four things from this game:

4. Stifling D that kept us in it until we could pull away

3. MM’s dominance

2. A four-minute review of Wall’s egregious hook-and-hold on CoHawk, which anyone seeing three angles of footage and possessing better than 20/400 vision could discern from 50 yards away, which was completely ignored

1. Geoff Alexander stepping into the Kohl Center directly from a GQ photo shoot in Barbados, rocking the sockless loafers and casual suit on a snowy January day in Madison

It’s absolutely clear to me that we need to make the Blues our default road togs.

I think Fast Breaks point was that as of now it is a Q1 win and at worst Q2-A if Wisconsin continues to struggle down stretch.

Either way, this is an important win for our resume. Biggest key will be beating NE and MN at home, and we will be able to avoid any bad losses for the year.

I know Coleman had to be frustrated but man has he come a long way this last year! Wow! These guys could really have something special going into the tournament. Fox kept talking up Wisconsin's weak offense and said little if anything about our defense. Defense does win championships! If we can keep playing defense like this and our offense takes a step forward and guys stop pressing so much. We are a final four team in the making.

to be fair on TSJ.......2 of those were on ridiculous charge calls and another on a play where he got fouled and the refs changed the call to a travel after Gard barked at them.

Wisky being allowed to grab so much slowed down his greatest strength also, especially if powering through the hacks is called as a charge.
This was a “what was that” moment for me. I don’t think we were told what happened.
