Well look at that. We play good defense, get some production from the point guard position, and we win.

Great win. :clappy:

Actually fun watching this game. NU gets destroyed by the Boilers and then loses at home to us, excellent!

Excellent defensive effort tonight. Looked like they cared and their effort was rewarded. Nice win. Why call a time out with 10 seconds left to let the Cats try to set something up, and then to see Dustin Ford talking to the team in that time out? Thought maybe the coaching staff was trying to throw away a great effort by the boys.

I'm still scratching my head at the role of AJ in this game. Anybody have any ideas?

Good win, good balanced scoring by everyone. A very fun game to watch on both ends. It still doesn't change Groce's inevitable removal but the guys are still playing hard, so that's good to see.

Good win even though NW was missing one of their key players. I'm happy for the players and the coaches. It's been a trying year to say the least.

This is how we start. We will win out and get in the dance and go all the way to the final four

That was awesome !
I never got to that crazy high that I usually do, because my Illinois fan tire is low on air this year, but it was still fun to watch. 40 straight minutes of effort and basketball. Some good, some bad, but 40 minutes of it. Boo Yah !

If this help prevents Northwestern missing the tournament I will be so happy. They finally hit the tough part of their schedule.

Anything we can do to prevent the kitty cats from making the tournament is a OK in my book. I don't want them making it and gaining any casual fan momentum, their run isn't cute to me.

NU is this state's best hope for getting a tournament team. Also, they're a good group of guys. Some people's hatred for NU is a little dumbfounding to say the least. People treat NU like they are Indiana or Kansas or UNC.

Beat them again in a few weeks and it will really get interesting

My feelings toward JG right now. Sorry but a win at NU carries a lot of weight for me...

Tate didn't play but I think it has more to do with Groce not pulling the plug on Te'Jon and letting him play long stretches and develop the continuity with his teammates. If Te'Jon gets in foul trouble, fine, let Tate play, otherwise, let Te'Jon play upwards of 30 mins. a night. He's a frosh, he's got legs, he'll be fine.

Also, I was happy to see him start Kipper in the 2nd half. He may have listened to the fans/media on this one.
