My concern is that when we slow down and let MD back down, it takes so much energy out of the offensive play and keeps everyone else from getting into the flow. Opponents are counting on this strategy and letting him bounce it off his foot a couple of times a game and giving the weak-side help plenty of time to surprise him. Ball did not get into the lane other than for MD booty plays, CoHawk drives, and TSjr. rips to the rim.
Lucky to get the W on an avg. against a depleted Hoosier squad. Hard game to watch but some good things happened also.
Getting DGL into the game for a trey was a good thing for all, and following turnover got him back to the bench which was also likely a good thing for all. Kid needs to harness his adrenaline and learn to make the right play at all times on both ends....but he can do it if he will do it. Has some gifts, but thousands of others did too who never ever got the chance to get where he is. Live your dream DGL and strive to become the Boo....we need you to be that player.
As a hoops fan, I give Indiana a nod of respect, even though I see them as our chief rival. It would be Michigan...but they have made themselves of no consequence over the past 100+ years. But they played close to their potential tonight...but just do not have the shooters to keep up with teams that do.
Finally, every one of these every day guys is a personal favorite of mine to various degrees.....but where was my favorite tonight? Q got a couple or three huge boards, but did not take a shot from the floor. And only 2-6 from the line? I am thinking he may have a bug, like I have fought off for two weeks, and if so he deserves a pass. But this team goes where Q, Hawk, TSjr. and MD lead it, and he needs to be a leader. Quite an anomaly game for him.
Anyway, we all, I am sure, hope to see this team running and gunning again, cutting and rolling, defending like banshees, and confident as hell. Hope that is soon!!!
