There’s just no explaining, excusing or defending this stuff. If it happens a FEW times a SEASON maybe. But this is happening multiple times each and every game with few foul calls being made. That simply said is not mere coincidence. I pray KW can survive the B10 schedule without serious injury. Seriously.

Unfortunately, nothing new there, Keaton has been getting hammered going to the rim for almost the entire season and getting no calls. With the last few being the worst. Big Refs are just lazy!!

I don't see it posted anywhere yet, which is unusual. The post-game show did happen per a News-Gazette article mentioning Mike LaTulip.

My guess is that it's a glitch and it'll show up by tomorrow. I need my regular dose of LaTulip and Evan Conn, plus likely calls from Simeon, Benny, and Hank... not sure what happened to Steve from Peoria 'cause I used to like that guy's comments as well.
That brings back some road trip memories for sure, me my wife and daughter riding back home after games. Some of the hot takes would send us into hysterical laughter. But ML has added that extra twist of true insight to it.

Yea the lack of fouls sometimes particularly on KW is amazing to me. However sometimes I actually wander if some guards don't get those calls because of the amount of times they gracefully fall after drives and slide on the floor out of bounds. Angles do make it harder sometimes to see some fouls and I think the refs swallow the whistle when guys consistently go down. In the old days if a guy went down like that a late foul would have been called, not so much anymore unless your name is Fears, he does have a unique way to sell every little touch.

just really happy with how we played this game, literally everything about it, some of the shots were off by a very minute margin but all good looking shots. Wish they had one more day of rest before heading west, but can't wait until we're back up to full strength. The officiating is, never was, and never will be consistent, give our guys a lot of credit for overcoming it. happy happy

My point would just be can we even in the slightest of ways imagine Fears not getting that call? Again, the ref (High Knees) is literally staring at it — not like their view is blocked or they have a bad angle.

I think it’s more political than people acknowledge. Wagler also wasn’t the most sought after guy coming into the year.

Yes, if Big Z gets major minutes, he could go off as could Jake Davis if his shot is going. Humrichous is probably the least consistent out of the 8 rotation guys

Interesting stat from this game:

With 57 possessions, this game was tied for the lowest possession game by an Illinois team in the Underwood era. The only other game with 57 possessions was in 2022, in a 60-55 win against Penn State.

Great Kylan is back and great to see the team back to rebounding like they should. Cool to see the Dainja Zone there at State Farm Center. Dain will always be an Illini cause he did graduate here. And KJ buying a Tomi jersey and wearing it at the game was a neat tidbit to hear.
