Illinois 73, Iowa 61 Postgame

Always great to sweep Iowa, and to possibly dash their tournament hopes is an added spectacular bonus. This league makes games so not fun to watch with questionable, phantom, just plain dumbfounding calls each and every night. I pray to the Baby Lord Jesus that we get some decent officiating in the NCAA tournament.

That said, great win in spite of it all, though it looked rough most of the game after the first 10 minutes. Keep everyone healthy next week and get ready to make a run hopefully. The D looked great for the most part, which should be a big boost going into postseason.

That was a great win. Had some time off to rest those legs and it showed. Confidence! Getting out to that double-digit lead early spurred on by the defense was key. That's how I expected the whole season to go--especially with the defensive effort.

Good to see QG in the game late. He adds more options to the offense when the team needs a score.

The way they played today was what I expected in the home games against Cornhusker, Golden Gopher, Spartan, Turtle and Hoosier. Have a lead, play solid defense, get contributions from DD and others, hold the lead and then blow the lid off with five minutes and under.

I give BU a lot of credit. Great coaching and more especially preparing the team against Iowa--a team that isn't at the top, but this is a solid Q1 win.

More rest and it looks like they'll play the Iowa-Minny winner?

READY TO DANCE.

Quincy

Fans in high heels from Wrigley to Comiskey,
To be Frank, he love girls tall like Kaminsky.
Former All-PAC 10 captain of mackin,
Now he hoop in Champaign, slash and attackin.

Terrance Shannon, dammit.

The one man high speed transit;
bulldoze Iowan broke h**s and he slams it.
Blockin tourney hopes with the chase down,
had Hawkeyes in headlocks: Illini shake down.

Domask has earned his crown.

Tight ropin’ white Kobe wit the turnaround
Step on the court,
Dix’s girlfriend and mother both turn around.
“He’s cute, for a mid major player”
Well… they learnin’ now, yearnin’ now.

Had to grind harder to get this one due to lapses in concentration. But made big plays, played continued tough D, while cutting down on fouls and turnovers down the stretch.

A sweet way to end a beautiful, successful regular season.

To me the ceiling on this team is still very high, but win one or two in the BIG tourney and go to the second weekend in the ncaa tourney and I’ll be happy.

Rebounding was elite

Dare I say we played defense against a good offensive team

We didn’t play our best and still won

Whoever said there would be Illini fans at Carver were correct it is hard to get the ILL chant going and that loud on the road
+1. The defensive rebounding was spectacular. I also love the fact that once an Iowa player got close to the rim, there was someone to help steal the ball, swat it away or change the trajectory of the shot. They haven't done that all season. Would love to see more of that.

Logic was probably for free throw shooting.
Right…but you give up the defense, rebounding, and loose balls…not to mention the Harmon Adventure anytime he inbounds. I dunno…I just think Ty should be in to close games.

Regardless…great win. Hot start, weathered the storm of their comeback and played solid defense. Amazing rebounding effort. Always love beating Iowa at Carver Hawkeye.

Likely Iowa Ohio State winner
