I didn't know he was injured.... what was the issue? Now that he's healthy, RJ has become a rotational player for us, on a team full of 4th and 5th year players. And he's in there at crunch time. He makes plays.

Nope. Avoided hearing the score until I got home.Didn’t you know the outcome of the came already?
Definitely familiarity bias IMHOHmmm…
Kansas v Illinois
Baylor v Purdue
Texas Tech v Wisconsin
Texas v Mich St
TCU v Ohio St
Kansas St v Rutgers
Okla St v Michigan
Oklahoma v Iowa
W Va v Indiana
Iowa St v NW
Could be a case of familiarity bias, but I know how I’d bet a week of washing dishes…
As a matter of fact, for a month of mowing lawns, I might go:
SEC > Big-12
and if I was feeling really lucky, a week of litter boxes on:
Pac-12 > Big-12
I read he had an ankle sprain, or some ankle issueI didn't know he was injured.... what was the issue?
Exactly why Williams wasn't out there at end, woof.
BU said that Belo rolled his ankle in practice yesterday so that might explain his off night.Positives:
Melendez
Rebounding
Negatives:
Turnovers
Belo
On to Rutgers.
Nothing against my insurance company of 40 years, but, God willing, I'm looking forward to the mid-2040s when the naming rights expire. IMO a national architectural landmark shouldn't have corporate sponsorship. I'm a grumpy old man that way.![]()
And in a duel between our AH and IU's, ours will always win. There can be only one.Assembly Hall will always be Assembly Hall. Sears Tower will always be Sears Tower. End of discussion.
Big ten tourney definitely behind regular season title in importance for me. Both pale in comparison to the tournament.Am I a bad fan if I don’t care how we do in the B1G tourney? I’d like to win conference (because I placed a bet when we were +700 to win it) but I’m not 100% certain going through the grinder of winning the B1G tourney is more beneficial than a little rest and preparation for teams we’ve not played before in advance of the real tourney. (duck and cover)
Fair enough. I’ll just go out for a beer with Andy Katz so he can talk some sense into me.Definitely familiarity bias IMHO

I'm not ready to proclaim that he has become a rotational player yet.Now that he's healthy, RJ has become a rotational player for us, on a team full of 4th and 5th year players. And he's in there at crunch time. He makes plays.
I know it's a lofty goal, but I stand by my prediction.
At the VERY least it should be named the "something, something" Assembly Hall.Nothing against my insurance company of 40 years, but, God willing, I'm looking forward to the mid-2040s when the naming rights expire. CRAZY: https://illiniboard.com/story/2022/2/13/so-how-we-doin-northwestern-1Everyone go on Illiniboard and read Robert's prediction for today's game. Pretty sure it was written by Robert From The Future.
If we don't.....we won't....If we play like this in the tourney we would likely lose first round as a 3 or 4 seed
He had a bad game. That's all. His game requires him to be in a rhythm with the other players on the floor. He doesn't have that, and might not the rest of the year. It's solely because of his injury/illness and time missed.
Ok is it just me or should Melendez get more playing time?![]()
At this point in the season, it's typical to play no more than 8-9 guys in any given game. (If you show well in practice, you'll get some tick.)Why didn't Goode or Podz play at all? Are they injured? Melendez was terrific; he's that taller wing we are lacking. He's very athletic, but I didn't know he could shoot treys and free throws like that. We may have set a record of some kind by having three Puerto Ricans on the court at the same time.
