I said during the game thread, this team is all about effort. If they play with heart and maximum effort they are as good as anyone. It's the times that they do not that are so frustrating.

But, tonight I give them ultimate credit, congratulations, and thanks for putting forth the effort they have during a very tough year given suspensions, injuries, and plain bad luck. They definitely have heart, and hopefully that can carry them to heights we all hope to reach!

I’m wearing my “Kofi’s trunk” practice jersey that I picked up in his online sale. Have worn it for every game this season.
It will be retired tomorrow and put in a frame - hung in either my home office, possibly the man cave.
In the meantime, I’m logging off loyalty for a couple hours as my beautiful bride and I will be visiting our go to bar and grill and I will be buying cocktails for anyone that responds to my chant with a loud and proud - “I N I” ! ! !
(Yes - my wife gets it and supports my passion)

My only wish is that I could tip a glass tonight with my compadres and brethren from Illinois Loyalty.
Cheers mates.

I'm SOOOOO happy for the Seniors and Kofi. What a way to go out on your home floor! But i cannot say enough about Coleman Hawkins. Without him, this may not have been close. He was a beast on defense, got some key rebounds, and simply put us over the edge tonight. Let's go win it all this year!!!

Our secret weapon (Curbelo) - still not all the way back, but getting close. 14 point, 6 assist, 4 late rebounds. (yuck 4 TO's though)

Yeah people were complaining but don't even realize he came in at the 11 minute mark we were down 5 and he basically dominated the game until he fouled out . He controlled the pace of the game and even with the mistakes he made it was still his pace . We haven't really seen that since last year

Just got home from watching the game with a fellow alum. He was a senior in '84 when we won a title. I'm Class of '88 and had to wait until '98 to see one. My daughter, who turns 18 next month, asked how it went and I was able to tell her that the Illini are Big Ten regular season champs for the first time since she was 10 months old.

Thank you: Brad, Trent, Damonte, Kofi, Jake, Fonso, Ayo, Giorgi, Dre Feliz, he!!... Kipper(!!) You built this. You've given us this gift. My heart overflows tonight for all of you, in happiness for what you've achieved and gratitude for the joy you've given us..
